➢ I didn’t pay attention to visual landmarks on my way to a new area

multiple orientations
➢ I misjudged the distance
➢ I didn’t have a good sense of the area I was in
➢ I don’t have good navigational abilities
❖ Answers
Have you ever lost your way?
➢ Oh yeah, quite a few times actually. Once it happened simply because I didn't
pay attention to what surrounded me on my way to a new area, I mean all
those visual landmarks which could help me find my way back easily. And

other times it mostly happened because I misjudged the distance. But lucky
for me, I always managed to find my way quite fast.
2. How can you find your way when you are lost?
❖ Ideas
➔ I can:
➢ study the map of the area I am in
➢ get help from people around, asking them to give me directions to the area I
need to get to
➢ use Google Maps on my phone
❖ Answers
How can you find your way when you are lost?
➢ Well, by studying the map of the area I am in or by using Google Maps on my
phone if I’m in some desolate region. But if I’m in a crowded place, I can try to
get help from people around, asking them to give me directions to the area I
need to get to.

3. Can you read a map when you are lost?
❖ Ideas
➔ yes:
➢ I learnt to do it when I studied at school
➢ my grandpa taught me to do it when I was a young boy (girl)
➢ I learnt to do it just a little while ago while travelling around my country
➔ no:
➢ I always use Google navigator when I lose my way
❖ Answers
Can you read a map when you are lost?
➢ Oh, I can do it quite well, lucky for me. I learnt to read paper maps when I
studied at school. We often went hiking in summer time, so during the
academic year our teachers taught us to understand distance and interpret

data in order to make us able to find our way home independently if we get
lost.
4. Have you ever helped someone who got lost?
❖ Ideas
➢ I can't recall it now
➢ just once in my life
➢ only a few times, and quite long ago
➢ I always help people who get lost, though I don't often meet them
❖ Answers
Have you ever helped someone who got lost?
➢ Well, only a few times in my life, and quite long ago. I used to live in a remote
area with terrible road infrastructure, and sometimes, I had to help people
who visited that area for the first time find their way as it was absolutely
impossible to do it without assistance from locals.
