Three Special Climbers
In 2002, three men – two Koreans and a New Zealander – wanted to climb Mount
Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa. Many people try to climb this 5,895 meter-high
mountain but fail. For these three men, it was especially difficult. Kim Hong-bin has no hands.
Kim So-young is blind. Tony Christianson has no legs. Together the three climbers were each
other’s eyes, feet, and hands.
