I will start by introducing myself, my name is Rob. I am 31
years old, and have been making a lot of money on Craig’s List
over the last year. I am/was a Home Improvement contractor
by trade, until I found how easy it was to make really good
money on Craig’s List, sitting at home. My contracting business
relies on my employees and customers, if anyone of them
messes up, I can lose money. But now using the free advertising
on Craig’s List, I can generate the same (if not more) income as I
was when I had 5 employees and a full time business, but
without the headaches! And the good thing about it is I rarely
have to leave my house to do it! The internet is open whenever
I feel like working, and I have better control of my income. It’s
an excellent feeling!
I was first introduced to Craig’s List by a friend, to help me
find an apartment. Once I started looking around on Craig’s List,
I was amazed at all the business transactions taking place. I
quickly realized that this was an amazing resource for buyers
and sellers, and began trying to find ways I could make money
there. The report you are about to read lists the best ways I
know of making money on Craig’s List, and how to do it. I will
give you some very advanced techniques that I have used for
over a year, as well as the basics (with my special twists on
them). I have spent the last year and four months on Craig’s
List, at least 2 hours a day, and I have made incredible money
doing there. I wrote this report to share with you what I have
learned, and to help you do the same.
Before I get started, I want to say that I will try to keep
everything as short as possible. My goal is to give you valuable
information, in a report that you can read and understand in

one sitting, and start using the next day! If you have any
questions after reading this report, please contact us through
the website www.themethodreports.com. We will gladly answer
any questions you may have! Please understand that while I can
answer a question or two, I cannot become a personal coach to
anyone. It is just impossible. You will have to take what I teach
you here and make your own way with it. Now here we go…
The first thing you need to know about CL is that it is out
of control. People post anything they want to, very often
offensive, and that’s just the way it is. People will respond to
ads you post in many ways; they might love you, hate you, or
even threaten you. Be aware of it, and protect yourself to
whatever extent you can, and you will be fine.
Don’t take the negative comments (there will be many) to
heart. Most people who respond negatively to your ads will just
be jealous of you, and you should ignore them. You should
create a new email account for all the posting you do on CL, and
be sure to not use your real name when you sign up for it (if
you do, your name will show up next to your email address
when you respond to ads). I only say this because a lot of
people create a separate email account to do business with and
their real name appears next to it when they use it (not private).
They are never aware that it shows, and some weird people on
CL will call you! You don’t need that, so play smart.
Actually, while we are on the topic of private email
accounts, stop reading this for a minute and go to Google (or
your choice) and set up a free email account that you will use
only for posting to CL. Once you have created your new email

account, you might as well set up your Craig’s List posting
account at the same time. Follow the directions here to set up
your CL posting account (it only takes a few minutes) then you
can come back to finish reading the report.
Directions for creating your Craig’s List posting
account:

Now that you have created an account, click the “Log-out”
link at the top of the page, and go back to www.craigslist.com.
I recommend that you spend a day or two clicking every
single category and section available on Craig’s List to familiarize
yourself with it. You should do this for one main reason; you
need to know of everything available on Craig’s List. Almost
everyone who uses CL only opens fewer than 3 sections there!
If you want to harness the real power of ALL of CL’s users, you
need to go where they are (every section on the homepage).
I will warn you that there are some sections on CL where
users post very explicit photos and offers, you will know when
you are getting close to seeing something that may bother
you:) Resist temptation and don’t look, I have seen things that
made me uncomfortable for a few days:) Those sections are
typically found under “personals”, and most often in the
sections of “misc romance”, and “casual encounters”. This isn’t
to say that you shouldn’t use these sections at all. I have found
these sections to contain some of the most responsive users,
depending on what type of ad you are posting. Just be aware.
Why should you know of
everything
available on
Craig’s List?
How else can you make deals and money if you are in the
dark? In order to make the most money possible on CL, you will
need to understand what you can offer to the users, and also to
Page 14 of 89 The Method

the service providers. You should scroll down through the ads
and see what topics come up often and what items and services
are popular. Once you know of everything happening on CL,
you will be much quicker to realize an opportunity when it
arises, or even better yet, to be able to create your own
opportunities! This one tip will put your CL income level
thousands of dollars ahead of 99% of CL users. They never take
the time to fully learn about CL and use it to its fullest potential.
Almost everyday I discover a new way or angle to make money
there! The opportunities are really endless. Now that you have
your new email account and your new posting account at CL,
let’s get you back on track…
Another thing you need to know about CL is how it works.
Basically, CL is a place where you can post and respond to free
advertisements of many sections; for sale, wanted, specific
items, in search of relationships, discussion forums, the list goes
on. As people post ads in each section, the newest ads appear
on top of the older ones, like the credits at the end of a movie
(in reverse). The longer your ad is posted, the more people will
have posted over your ad. That means that viewers will have to
scroll down further and further to see your ad as time goes by.
The following page is a screen shot of what the ads look like
posted to CL. Remember that the more recent ads posted
appear on top of the older ads.
Page 15 of 89 The Method

The ad you see here for “stonework” was posted after the ad for
“1 weekend warrior painting”.
Page 16 of 89 The Method

You can (and should) post pictures or images in your ads
(they get viewed much more than ads without pictures). The
following is a screen shot showing which ads have pics
attached… note the yellow “pic” indicator on the right of the ad
headline…those ads will get opened almost every time just on
curiosity alone:) Then if you are offering something nice, you at
least have the reader’s attention!
Page 17 of 89 The Method

When you click on an ads headline, this is what it will look
like when it opens:
The bold black print in the ad is the headline (what you saw
on the page that lists the ads). When you post an ad, your
email address is concealed from the reader (unless you specify
that it shouldn’t be), and when people view your ad, they can’t
tell who posted it. Notice the blue link to the right of “reply to:”
at the top left corner of the ad. That is CL disguising your email
address as the blue link.
Page 18 of 89 The Method
Copyright 2007-2008 The Method Reports, llc. All rights reserved.
When a reader wants to respond to your ad, they click the
blue link (unless you have included your contact info in the ad
body, or specified that your email address should be exposed).
When they click the blue link they are actually responding to CL,
and then CL forwards the email to your email address. Once
you respond to the person who answered your ad (from your
email account), they will be able to see your email address.
Why again is it important to use a hidden or private email
account when posting to CL? A girl I met on CL told me that she
had an item posted for sale, and she received a nasty response
from some guy who was terribly angry at her for no apparent
reason (not that unusual on CL:). He cursed her out in his email,
and she responded accordingly (cursed him right back). She did
this using her work email account, and her email address had
her name, and the company she worked for
(). The guy was so enraged
that he looked up the company where she worked, and called
reception to be connected with her he was able to get her on
the phone and yell at her, which was more than she had
expected, and really scared her! Bottom line; be smart, it’s
better to ignore the “wackos” than to respond to them. With
that being said
Some times of day are better to post to CL than others.
From being online the last year using CL, I have found that there
are busy times on CL and slow times too. You want to post
when your ad will be featured at the top of a section, for the
longest amount of time. You also want to post your ads right
before it gets busy, so many people will be on CL looking at
your ad. The slow times are basically from 1AM to 7AM (people
Page 19 of 89 The Method

are sleeping), 12PM to 2PM (people are eating lunch), and from
5-7PM (people are driving home, and eating dinner). Friday
nights, and Saturday nights are slow times too (people are
going out, or with friends and family). Busy times are from
8AM-12PM (people are sitting at work online, or have sent kids
off to school), 2PM-5PM (people are at their desks, or kids aren’t
home yet), and from 7PM-1AM (people are online at home). If
you post your ads to correspond with people’s CL browsing
activity, you will usually get better responses to your ads. The
following is a chart for easy reference showing the best days
and times to post to get the most responses, and keep your ad
closer to the top for the longest. To print this chart, click here
