Summary: The Southern region is the largest industrial, seaport and logistics center of
the country, has a seaport system, developed logistics, the volume of goods through
seaports accounts for 45% of the total volume of goods and over 60% of the volume.
Container cargo through Vietnam seaport system. In which Ho Chi Minh City with the
geographical position located between the Southeast and Southwest region plays a very
important role in connecting trade activities, being the dynamic economic, political and
social center of country. Currently, 70% of the import and export goods of the Southwest
pass through seaports in the area of Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeastern Seaport, on
the other hand, the goods and passengers between the Southwest Region and the
Southeastern regions in particular. and the whole country is generally through HCMC
and the provinces in the South East Region. Therefore, the connection between Ho Chi
Minh City and the Southeast and Southwestern provinces is essential for socio-economic
development. Connected via 05 modes of transport: road, inland waterway, sea, rail and
air.
