We are getting started on our 2011 Batson Hospital for Children MiracleHome! The new
MiracleHome is located in the great Reunion development, located in Madison, MS. The 2,900+
square foot, 3 bedroom, 3 ½ bath home features a large open floor plan with formal living and
dining rooms adjacent to the spacious keeping room. The home will also feature a separate home
office, bonus room upstairs, outdoor kitchen and separate his and hers master bathrooms. You can
sit on your covered back porch and enjoy the protected green space that backs up to the property.
Charlie Warriner has signed on to build this year’s MiracleHome and he is excited for the challenge
of building the biggest MiracleHome to date.
The giveaway is set for August 2011. WJTV News Channel 12 and local radio stations Y101, Mix
98.7 and US 96.3 will be broadcasting live from the house the day of the giveaway as we get
together to celebrate the many wonderful children treated at the Blair E. Batson Hospital for
Children. The house will be a part of the Homebuilders Association of Jackson's 2011 Spring Parade
of Homes in May. Following the Parade of Homes, the MiracleHome will be open every Saturday
and Sunday for tours. Please stop by the MiracleHome and purchase your ticket!
Tickets are $100 apiece and a limited number will be sold. We have sold an average of 5,000
tickets in past years. Tickets are on sale now, so please visit our website: www.AHome2U.com or
call 1-877-AHome-2U to purchase yours today. Please visit www.foch.org for a complete listing of
the rules and regulations and also to see a complete listing of sponsors and contributors who helped
make this year’s MiracleHome a success. You can view the MiracleHome construction progress as
well as see a listing of secondary prizes.
Friends of Children’s Hospital is a nonprofit organization created to benefit the Blair E. Batson
Hospital for Children at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. It was created by a group of
dedicated members from around the state whose purpose is to support and promote the Batson
Hospital for Children, Mississippi’s ONLY hospital designed and equipped specifically for the care
and treatment of sick and injured children.
The Batson Hospital prioritizes children’s care and places emphasis on the special needs of
hospitalized children. Friends’ goal is to build a statewide base of community support in order to
raise money for state-of-the art equipment, facilities and services for all pediatric patients. Through
volunteer efforts and contributions, Friends members help the Batson Hospital in its fight against
childhood disease and injury. Friends membership and sponsorship is open to anyone interested in
improving health care for Mississippi’s greatest natural resource—our children.

Friends has developed several events to raise funds for the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children.
These include: An Evening with the Mannings, Batson MiracleHome Project, Trustmark Children’s
Hospital Golf Tournament, Light-A-Light for Children and Enchanted Evening Under the Stars
gala. Friends is also the named charity for the Viking Classic and the SouthGroup 5K Walk/Run. A
specialty car license plate was released in 2004 to benefit the children’s hospital.
Co-created in 2003 by the Friends of Children’s Hospital and the Home Builder's Association of
Jackson, the Batson Hospital for Children MiracleHome has quickly become Friends’ largest annual
fundraiser. Each year, the MiracleHome committee works with the Home Builder’s Association of
Jackson and a volunteer builder to construct a new home which is given away. Fabulous secondary
prizes are also part of the prize package.
Tickets are sold during a multi-month marketing campaign which includes TV and newspaper ads,
radio spots, news stories, website updates, brochure and letter mailings and MiracleHome open
houses. The project concludes with the MiracleHome broadcast, an event where Batson Hospital
patients and staff, project volunteers, sponsors and contributors gather to give away the home.
Many great secondary prizes will be given away as well.
More than 150,000 children from all of Mississippi's 82 counties and surrounding areas are treated
at the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children at the University of Mississippi Medical Center each
year. Projects like the Friends of Children's Hospital MiracleHome raise much needed funds for the
hospitals programs and services.
Proceeds from the MiracleHome project have helped buy specialized equipment, supported the
child life program and helped to expand the hospital's facilities. Currently, Friends is committed to
raising $1.7 million for the relocation of the pediatric clinics and the renovation and expansion of
the pediatric emergency room-an estimated $4.4 million project.
As the state's only Level I emergency room designed specifically for children, Batson's emergency
department provides services which cannot be duplicated anywhere else in Mississippi. However,
the ER was built more than 20 years ago. Approximately 17,000 patients were treated annually
when it opened. Today, that number has nearly doubled. The current facilities were simply not
designed to handle this patient volume or the problems of today.

With your support of our Batson Hospital MiracleHome project, you will be supporting
Mississippi's ONLY Children's Hospital and your donation will help us meet this critical need!
