John reports three of his key visions in the
introductory chapters of the book. Read
each passage, using the following outlines as
you read:

(2:1—3:22)
Mainly because of the chapters’ clear
content, this is the section of Revelation
most familiar to Christians. The section is
mostly descriptive and does not have an



abundance of di cult symbols and
prophecies. It is like a mirror for the reader,
as he sees himself and his local church
described in the text.
