I -Active and Passive Sentences (Câu chủ
động và câu bị động) .
1. Active sentences(Câu chủ động) :

+ là câu trong đó chủ ngữ là người hay vật thực
hiện hành động.
E.g : They clean this house everyday.
2. Pasive sentences(Câu bị động) :
+là câu trong đó chủ ngữ là người hay vật nhận
hoặc chịu tác động của hành động.
E.g : This house is cleaned everyday.
PART 1

Form ( hình thức):
Subject + be + past participle (V3/ed) + (by +agent)
Eg : This tree is being planted by my grandfather now
S be + pp (Ved) by + o (agent)

Passive : S + BE + V3( P.P) + ( BY +AGENT)

-Chú ý :
+ Nếu chủ ngữ trong câu chủ động là tên riêng xác
định thì ta sử dụng lại trong câu bị động làm tân ngữ
theo sau gới từ “by”.E.g: Mr Pike, Ms Mary,…
E.g : This car is repaired by Mr Pike
+ Các chủ ngữ I, we ,you ,they ,she ,he ,it ,one
,people ,someone, somebody , trong câu chủ động
thường được lược bỏ,không dùng trong câu bị động.
E.g: She often borrows my bicycle.
My bicycle is often borrowed.
-Trạng từ (ngữ) chỉ thời gian thì đứng sau”by”
- E.g : The report is typed by the secretary this
morning
-Trạng từ (ngữ) chỉ địa điểm thì đứng trước”by”
-
E.g : He is found in the forest by the police

Active : Jane cleans the floor every day .
Passive : The floor is cleaned by Jane everyday .

Passive : S + IS / AM / ARE + P.P (V3/ed)

1. Simple present :
Active : S + V(s/es) + O

Active : Jane is cleaning the floor now .
Passive : The floor is being cleaned by Jane now.
2. Present continuous
Passive : S + IS / AM / ARE + BEING +
P.P(V3/ed) + (+BY + O)
Active : S + am/is/are + V-ing + O

III.Change the following sentences into passive voice
1. They sell a special kind of tea here .
2.They are building many new roads in this city.
3. The English government puts him in prison this year .


4. Her parents are planting some palm trees right now.
5.Mr Brown is holding a meeting in the hall .
A special kind of tea is sold here .
Many new roads are being built in this country.
He is put in prison by the English government this year .
Some palm trees are being planted by her parents right now
A meeting is being held in the hall by Mr Brown .
