Editor’s Note
The Ohio buckeye is the state tree of Ohio, which is in the central United
States. Buckeye trees can be found throughout Ohio, and the state’s nickname
is the Buckeye State. The seed (or nut) of the Ohio buckeye is said to
get its name because it looks like the eye of a deer buck. The seed (or nut)
is said to bring good luck, like a rabbit’s foot or other charm.
