Seahorse
Created by Marcia Joy Miller
Folding this cute seahorse may bring a smile to the face of
even the most serious of folders!

PAPER: Create the model from the designated sheet of
folding paper included in the back of the book on page
103. You can also use a 6 to 10-inch square of origami
paper.

BASIC TECHNIQUES: See Chapter 1 for the Reverse
Fold, Rabbit Ear Fold, and Fish Base exercises.

touches the bottom corner of

This time, make an

First make a valley crease
and then a mountain crease
at the line for the fold. Then
turn the bottom portion of
the flap inside out, wrapping
its layers around the model.)

the head towards you and
the back top edge away from
you. Shape the tail with a

valley fold.

11 Steps 11–12 show only
the head. Shape the head by
making a small mountain
fold.

10

Push the corner
completely inside the head
by making an inside reverse
fold.

12 Push down on the top
edge while you push up on
the bottom edges causing
mountain folds (that are
partially open) to form.
