Trophy Bowl
Created by Marcia Joy Miller
Trophy Bowl can be used as a candy dish or a
presentation piece. The model is a modular design made
from three units. You can create the modules during
coffee breaks and connect them at lunchtime.

PAPER: Create the model from the three sheets of
designated folding paper included in the back of the
book starting on page 151. You can also, if you are
planning to use Trophy Bowl as a candy dish, make it
from three 8½-inch squares of medium weight bond
paper in different colors. When the model is created from
shiny paper-backed foil, the colors of its faces reflect
and mix with each other giving a pretty effect. To make
the model from foil, you will need three 6-inch squares
of shiny medium weight paper-backed foil in different
colors. Experienced folders can also create the model
from other types of paper.
BASIC TECHNIQUES: See Chapter 1 for the Waterbomb
Base exercise.

1 Start with a completed
Waterbomb Base. (If you are
using the included folding
paper, begin the Waterbomb
Base with the solid-color side
facing you.) First, mountain
fold the left front flap as

indicated. Next, valley fold
the right front flap as shown.

2 First, mountain fold and
then unfold the bottom of
the right front flap as shown.
Next, mountain fold the
bottom of the left front flap
as indicated.

3 Stand the two front flaps
at a right angle to the rest of
the model. Make two more
units from the remaining
squares.

4 Position two units as shown. Insert the large top flap of the
bottom unit into the large right flap of the top unit. Notice
that on the right side of the upright flap of the top unit, there
are two pockets. You will be using the rightmost of these
pockets. Tuck the indicated tab of the bottom unit inside this
pocket. Slide both units together as far as possible.
