Reversible Star

Flip this decorative star over and you will discover a
different design.

PAPER: Make the model from the designated sheet of
folding paper included in the back of the book on page
143. You can also use a 6-inch square of origami paper
or paper-backed foil. After you become familiar with
the model, you can create Reversible Star from a 3-inch
square of origami paper or paper-backed foil.
BASIC TECHNIQUES: A knowledge of how to make a
valley fold and a mountain fold is all that is needed (see
Chapter 1—Terms and Symbols).

1 Start with a completed
Pinwheel from Thirds
by folding steps 1–19
of Blossom Blow-Top
which appears later in this
chapter. (If you are using
the included folding paper,
begin the Pinwheel from
Thirds with the patternedside facing you.) Position the
model as shown. Then, on
the right section, make the
indicated fold on its front
flap. Make similar folds with
the other three sections.

2 Open the folds that you
made in the last step.

3 Tuck each of the four
indicated flaps under itself.
Next, turn the model over
from side to side.

4 On the left flap, create a
fold by matching the dots—
the fold will begin at the
outer corner.
