ABSTRACT:
Modem city marketing studies often focus on academic and practical aspects. In fact,
there are still questions about the potential as well as the impact of city marketing tools on
promoting urban economic, cultural and social development of cities. There are certain gaps
between theoretical proposals and practical implementation in modem city marketing. This
sutyd focuses on the city marketing implementation and branding practices of the city of
Amsterdam to clearly point out the right development of city marketing theories and shorten
gaps between theories and practices of city marketing. This study also analyzses the city
marketing practices of Amsterdam to draw lessons and experiences for Vietnam's cities.
