What: Clark Energy Citizen Scholar Scholarship
Who: Graduating senior who is (or whose parent or guardian is) a
member of Clark
Energy Cooperative, and who will attend college or vocational school
Criteria:
1. Minimum 2.50 GPA
2. 45% Essay – 30% school and/or community involvement, and
25% GPA
Application Deadline: March 27 by 4:00PM

Notification: Student will be recognized on Seniors Night but
scholarship money will be sent directly to college upon notification by
award winner
Award: $1000 one-time award
*This is a separate application and is available in guidance office or

COMMUNITY TRUST BANK’S SCHOLARSHIP ESSAY

CONTEST

What: A scholarship winner will be chosen from each participating high
school. The scholarship will be payable to the college or technical
school of your choice.

Who: All graduating seniors are eligible to enter this essay contest.
Rules:

1. Essay Topic: What My Community Means to Me
2. Essay must be the original work of the entrant.
3. Must be at least two pages in length, and no more than three pages.
4. Essay must be typed double-spaced or neatly handwritten.
5. Must be on 8 ½ x 11 inch paper.
6. The official entry form must be attached.
7. Immediate family members of Community Trust Bank employees are
not
eligible.
8. Essays will be judged 75% on content, and 25% on grammar,
spelling, and
punctuation.
Amount of Award: $500 award
Number of Awards: One
Application Deadline: Must be turned in to guidance office by April
17th
Awards Presentation: Student will be recognized on Senior Honors’

DR. RICHARD HENRY DDS SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria:
1. Recipient must be planning a career in dentistry or a
dental field.
2. Recipient must have earned a 3.00 GPA or above.
3. Recipient must have a record of service in the community.
4. Recipient must have a demonstrated strong work ethic.
5. Recipient must be recognized as exhibiting outstanding
character traits.
Recommended by: Self, through the Community Scholarship

GEORGE CRAFTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

What: George Crafton Memorial Scholarship
Who: Graduating seniors applying for college. Their major must be
agriculture or
related fields of natural resources conservation
Instructions:
1. Eligible students must obtain an application from the high school or
from
Montgomery County Conservation District, 509 Willin Way, Suite 2,
Mount Sterling, KY 40353 or on line:
/>2. Each application must be completed entirely. Required attachments
are as
as follows:
a. Two letters of recommendation (original, current copies)
b. Most recent transcript, and:
c. Completion of comprehensive essay
Applicant’s Comprehensive Essay as stated in Section V of the
Scholarship application. The essay should reflect the applicant’s
true thoughts and opinions and not be rambling sentences in an
effort to fill space. The essays are very important to the judges in
their final decisions. The applicant cannot change the subject
matter and content of their essay, but they are welcome to
polish
and refine their essay by making necessary corrections before
submitting their applications to the Conservation District
3. The completed application, along with required
attachments, are to
be submitted to the local Conservation District
Application Deadline: March 1st
Notification: Money will be sent to school of student’s choice. A
plaque will be awarded at the KACD banquet during their annual

meeting in July.

HOWARD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

What: Howard Memorial Scholarships
Who: Two graduating seniors(One Female and One Male Applicant)
Criteria:
1. Recipient must plan to attend college full time.
2. Recipient must study Agriculture.
3. Recipient must have acceptable ACT or SAT scores and a good
GPA.
4. Recipient must provide proof of enrollment at an accredited
college or
university.
5. Recipient must demonstrate financial need.
Nominated by: Applications are received at the guidance office.
Selection Committee: Guidance counselor
Trust officer of the Kentucky Bank
Selection Process: Awards are based first on course of study plan.
The second
criterion is the need of the individual students who have been
nominated.

Criteria:
1. Recipient must have earned a 3.00 GPA or above.
2. Recipient must have a record of service in the community.
3. Recipient must be planning to major in agriculture or an
agriculture related field.
4. Recipient must have a demonstrated strong work ethic.
5. Recipient must be recognized as exhibiting outstanding
character traits.
Recommended by: A guidance counselor and an agriculture teacher.

KDMK STEM Scholarship
Criteria:

1. Student must be a graduating senior from Montgomery County High School.
2. Student must be pursuing a degree in the fields of science, technology, engineering or
math.
3. Students must have 3.0 GPA or higher
4. Student must plan to attend a college, university or technical college full time.
5. Student must complete the community scholarship application, transcript, 2-3 page
project proposal or essay on “How their efforts will benefit Montgomery County”.
Provide a letter of recommendation.
6. Student must demonstrate a strong work ethic and interest in community service.
7. Scholarship is merit based.
Restrictions: Scholarship is awarded to defray the costs of tuition and will be paid directly to the

institution of choice, upon documentation of enrollment.
Application Deadline: April 3
Selected by: KDMK will award based on the decision of the scholarship committee.
Award: $ 2,000(non-renewable) and divided equally between the fall and spring semester.

Should the student not enroll or choose to leave prior to the completion of the academic year,
the award will not be provided or adjusted based on enrollment Status. The full or remaining
award will be given to another applicant based on the criteria outlined above.

Winner will also meet with the company’s President at KDMK for photo and certification
presentation.

degree to give back to Montgomery County. In your proposal please outline the following
information:
*Share your interest in the degree field you are pursuing and what you want to accomplish in that area of

*What project or service you plan to give back to our community and why you feel this would be advantageous to
our community.
*Outline the steps or process you will follow to accomplish this project / community service.

STATE FARM STUDENT/ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIP
What: State Farm Student/Athlete Scholarship
Who: One male and one female graduating student athlete continuing
education
in a college.
Criteria:
1. Recipient must have at least a 3.0 grade point average
2. Recipient must have competed in the athletic season
3. Recipient must exhibit high moral character and strong work
ethic both
in academics and athletics
4. Recipient must have demonstrated financial need

4. High personal values and character traits
5. Career planned in math related field or math education

MONTGOMERY COUNTY CONSERVATION DISTRICT
SCHOLARSHIP
What: Montgomery County Conservation District Scholarship
Who: Montgomery County High School Seniors
Nominated by: Montgomery County Conservation District
Criteria:
1. Applicants are Montgomery County High School Seniors with a
GPA of at least a 3.00.
2. Those already attending college may only be considered if
there are no high school applicants or these applicants do not
meet the criteria.

3. Major field of study must be Agriculture and/or Natural
resources in college.
4. If Scholarship recipient decides, for any reason, not to attend
college, the scholarship award must be turned back into the
district to be awarded to another applicant.
6. Recipient must submit a transcript with counselor’s seal.
7. Recipient must submit an essay on why they are deserving of
the scholarship.
Amount of Award: $500 scholarship (non-renewable). The

scholarship is paid out $250 the first semester and $250 the second
semester.
Number of Awards: One
Notification: Senior Honors Night-Scholarship money will be sent
directly to college upon proof of enrollment.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY EDUCATION ASSOCIATION
SCHOLARSHIP

What: Montgomery County Education Association Scholarship
Who: A graduating senior
Criteria:
1. Recipient must plan to major in education.
2. Recipient will attend an accredited college or university.
3. Recipient will be a full-time college student.
4. Recipient must been enrolled at Montgomery County High
School at least two of his or her four years.

: $500 scholarship (nonrenewable)
Number of Awards: One
Nominated by: Self (via Scholarship application Data Sheet), and
two letters of recommendation from local educators
Nomination Deadline : April 17th

Selection Deadline: An MCEA Committee will complete selection
at least one week prior to the Senior Honors Night
Notification: Senior Honors Night-scholarship money will be sent
directly to student upon proof of enrollment

MONTGOMERY COUNTY FARM BUREAU SCHOLARSHIP
The president of Montgomery County Farm Bureau shall annually
appoint a chairperson and four other Montgomery County Farm Bureau
members to make a committee of five
persons. This committee shall be responsible for updating and revising
the scholarship forms. Selection will be made by a special committee
of another county Farm Bureau.
The chairperson shall be responsible for all meetings of the committee.
The chairperson shall distribute the updated scholarship forms to the
high school
counselors in Montgomery County.

The school counselors shall be responsible for making forms available
to qualifying students.
There shall be no limit to the number of applicants, provided applicants
meet all
scholarship requirements.
The scholarship applicant(s) shall be responsible for submitting the
application to the Montgomery County Farm Bureau Office, 223
Windsor Drive, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.
The application must be postmarked no later than March 27th. Any
scholarship

postmarked after this date will not be considered.
The amount of the scholarship shall be $1000 ($500 per semester) and
may be used at any college or post-high school vocational training
program. Recipients will be eligible to apply for continuance of their
scholarship as long as they meet eligibility requirements.
The Montgomery County Farm Bureau will, upon approval of the high
school, announce the scholarship winner in connections with the
applicant’s high school awards night or commencement.
All applications become the property of the Montgomery County Farm
Bureau and will not be returned.
RULES
1. The applicant must be a member of a Montgomery County Farm
Bureau family. This membership must have been in good standing for
three consecutive years, including the current year.
2. The applicant must be a graduating senior at Montgomery County
High School.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY FARM BUREAU SCHOLARSHIP

3. The applicant must have an overall scholarship standing of at least a
“C+” (2.50 GPA) for the four years of high school.
4. The applicant must have exhibited leadership skills in school and
community.
5. Applications must be received by the Montgomery County Farm
Bureau Office no later than March 27th of the current year.

6. The applicant must enroll in an accredited college or university or a
post-secondary vocational training program no later than the fall term
immediately following high school graduation, or the scholarship will
be forfeited. (In case of hardship, the recipient may appeal to the
scholarship committee for an extension.)
7. $500 will be mailed directly to the recipient upon receipt of proof of
enrollment. A copy of paid tuition statement from the college,
university, or vocational school must be received by the Montgomery
County Farm Bureau Treasurer, who may then issue the check.
8. The scholarship money will be equally divided between college
semesters, or other similar school divisions.
9. Recipients must maintain a “C” (2.00 GPA) average in college, or
satisfactory
performance in vocational training. Unacceptable performance or
dropping out of
school, except for serious illness or injury, will cause the scholarship to
be forfeited.
10. Recipients will be eligible to apply for annual contributions of this
scholarship as long as they meet eligibility requirements (not to exceed
two consecutive years, or $2000). An application for continuance can
be obtained from the Montgomery County
Farm Scholarship chairperson no later than June 30th of each year.
11. After completion of one year of post-secondary studies, the student
shall give an oral report to the Montgomery County Farm Bureau Board.

The president of Montgomery County Farm Bureau shall annually appoint a
