ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is designing communicative tests for Grade 10th non-English
Majors at BG gifted high school. In the first part of the study, the introduction is presented.
The background theories of language testing, communicative language tests and
communicative language test design are shown in the second part. Two sets of questionnaires
were conducted to find out the students’ attitude, English teachers’ opinions and suggestions
for designing tests communicatively. The data collection was analyzed to determine the needs,
objectives, and suggestions of the communicative test design. Basing on the results from the
collected data, the researcher has designed a proposed communicative test consisted of
listening, reading skills, writing and grammar and vocabulary tasks for Grade 10 th nonEnglish Majors at BG gifted high school. The author hopes that this study would be helpful for
teachers and students at Bac Giang gifted high school.
