INTRODUCTION
With the development of market economy, English has been considered to be the
first globa language. It has been an international language of communication, business,
science, information technology, entertainment and so on. Currently, when Vietnam is
integrating into the world economy, the use of foreign languages is quite common and
necessary. The popular languages like English, French, Chinese, German, etc. are all
studied and studied by young people, especially English.
Nowadays, English has become the most widely used and popular language in
the world. Most countries have now used the English language as an essential factor in
communication across a variety of aspects, from the daily life in travelling, finance,
trade,... It’s the reason why most of people choose English as the second language.
And now, Viet Nam is in the process of international integration, English is an
indispensable part for us, especially for the economy.
As a result, the job market with being good at one of those languages is also
wider. One of the professions that are currently rated hot is translator, especially
English translator.
When becoming a translator, English becomes a powerful tool to translate
documents as well as train yourself.
As a result, I chose to become an intern at Worldlink Professional Translation
and Consulting JSC. Thanks to the enthusiastic assistance of all official member in the
company and teachers Hoang Thu Ba of Thuongmai University, my knowledge and
internship process, I wrote this report. Because of the limited time and my
qualification, it maybe has some mistakes. I hope that you can give me some
suggestions to improve my report.

With the development and application of

English worldwide, Worldlink


Professional and Consulting JSC has established by Mrs. Ha Thi Anh on June 17,2013
with the headquarter at No.51 Nguyen Ngoc Vu,Trung Hoa Ward, Cau Giay District,
Hanoi City, Vietnam according to a business registration issued by District Tax
Department of Cau Giay. Although newly established on June 17 2013, Worldlink
Professional Translation and Consulting JSC has 7 years of experience and comes
from a team of Lecturers, Masters, and Alumni of the Foreign Language Institute – Ha
Noi University of Science and Technolog , which has trained linguists, is not only
good at scientific, technical and technological expertise but also other specialties.
World Link Professional Translation has a team of experienced and professional
staff working in the style of working with Collaborators who are experts in the field of
expertise. Because it was founded by masters, bachelor of languages from Hanoi
University of Technology, University of Foreign Languages, Hanoi National
University ...so their strengths that other translation companies can not compete It is
the highest quality and fastest translation of scientific, technical and technological
documents.
Only established 7 years, Worldlink company was honored to receive the award
of the top 50 most prestigious translation companies in Vietnam and many other
valuable prizes.

I.1.4. The organizational structure
The organization of management in every company is indispensable, it ensures
strict monitoring of the company's business situation.
In order to perform effectively the management functions, each company needs
to have an appropriate managerial and organizational structure. For Worldlink too.
Worldlink’s organizational structure by function and each department will undertake
its own function as well as plays an important role to success of the company.
However, they still have a tight relationship and support with each other in order to
ensure the consistency of management system. A department can not work effectively
without connection with other departments. The following is the diagram of the
management apparatus of Worldlink Professional Translation and Consulting JSC.

I.1.5. Information about each department
With the model above in , we realize the following advantages: Each
department's tasks are clearly defined, so they will have a high responsibility for their
tasks in particular and the company in general.

 Director : Mr. Ha Thi Anh is responsible for all activities and makes all of the
strategies for company: Short-term as well as annual plans, investment plans,
organizational and management plans,…
 Vice Director: Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thao is responsible for managing staff and
customers and other activities of the company.
 Translation Department: this department specilizes in translating and
proofreading the documents that the coordinator assigned.
 Marketing Department: Mrs. Ly is responsible for introducing the company on
the website, forum, finding, marketing services and customer care.
 Accounting Department: Ms. Nguyen Thi Hao is responsible for paying to staff,
conducting the collection, processing and provision of information, summarizing
reports, and planning on the financial situation.
 Admin Office: The duties of this department is managing website, quoting and
replying to the customers’ complaints.
 Consulting department: Mr. Hoa consults the services of company to customers
and assist them if nescessary.

 Notary Department: the responsibility of this department is notarizing the
documents for customers.

Sales of company increased significantly in recent years because of the improved
quality: the period of 2015-2016 sales increased from 7.085 to 8.346 million VND,
increased by 1.261 million dong, from 2016-2017 sales’ increase is 4.921 million VND
from 8.346 to 13.267 million dong and it increased by 0,765 million VND from 13,267
to 14,032 million dong in the period of 2017-2018. Especially from 2018-2019, it sales
soared, increased by 3.81 million dong. Only 5 years, the sales of company increased
quickly, increased by 10,757 million dong. It is a significant figure.
I.1.8. Facilities of Worldlink JSC
To meet the needs of efficient business, Worldlink Joint Stock Company has
invested in the best facilities and maintained these technical facilities regularly.
The office has a full range of computer equipment, tables, chairs, air
conditioners, printers, phones, .....to facilitate the working process and transactions.
In the company, there are systems of equipment, production machines with large
capacity to ensure the working process.

I.2 Information about translation department
The translation department consists of 6 employees, the head of the translation
department of Mr. Lo Van Huong, 4 full-time staff and 2 part-time translators.
Translation department plays an important role in the company. This is the
translation department for documents, emails of foreign customers and other

documents. In other words, the translation department is the place to provide translated
documents so that other departments can make statistics of the company's translation
data each month. In general, the translation department brings a lot of revenue to the
company.

II.1. The process of performing the assigned tasks
I spent 4 weeks and worked as an translator on training in Worldlink JSC. I went
to the company 5 days a week. And my working timeable is according to working time
table of the company.

After checking the documents I translated,
the coordinator talked to me anout the

mistakes and then I continued translating
other documents like criminal records,

Learn how to translate the difficult
documents such as contracts, decisons,...
in English and then translate them into
Vitenamese and then the vice director
check the contents of translation.
-Learn how to translate the documents into
English and be given some translations to
read.
-Translate the commerical documents
from Vietnamse into English like the bill
of lading, commercial invoices, certificate
of orgin, quality,...
- Summit them for the coordinator and
then correcth the mistakes.
- The vice manager guide me write the
labour contracts in English with the terms
and conditions. And then I try to translate
a contract under her supervision.
- Have a meeting with staff in the comapy
and take part in the year end party of
company.

II.2. Difficulties and the personal experiences accquired through the training
course.
II.2.1. The difficulties
Besides many opportunities which this job brings to me, it also come with plenty
of challenges and rewards. Although, other staffs in translation department and
company always give me useful advice and support me in the process of internship.
However, I can not avoid facing up to difficulties during the internship time.
First of all, the working environment is not the same as what I thought before as
well what I learned in University. At work, a professional factor is needed an employee
but that’s what a intern like me don’t have. For example, when I received a task,with
the senior members, they can do it quickly. However, I must spend a lot of time to do.
Secondly, at the beginning of the internship time, it is difficult for me to put my
english knowledge into practice. That translating many documents per day makes me
really stress. Furthermore, my skills to translate documents into English is not good

because of the lack vocabularies and major languages. I must take too much time for
Google Search to understand meaning of keywords.
Thirdly, I study at university 4 years, however, I did not have a chance to use
office machinery such as printer, photocopier, fax,….so I need others help in order to
use these machines. Fortunately, they help and guide me with whole-hearted attitude
so I can learn more quickly.
The last difficulty which I have to face up with is business culture. When I start, I
realized that the working environment is too serious and professional. In such an
environment, I find it difficult to ask questions for fear of being judged. I become
hesitant when having questions. And I must have some skills like communication,
negotiation, team buiding,….to address the problems. However, people in the
company always help me and give me some advice to socialized with business culture.
II.2.2. The personal experiences acquired through the training course
Through 4 weeks of interning at Worldlink JSC, I acquired many useful
experiences and soft skills. From my point of view, those experience is the key that

make me more confident in my future job. These are some experienced that I attained
from the internship time.
First of all, with the guides of my supervisor and my colleagues in Worldlink
JSC, I have many oppotunities to put my english into practice. I have gained a lot of
information and knowledge as well vocabularies in translation filed. After finishing the
internship time, I realized that my english vocabulary as well as my english grammar
are improved so much through practice.
In addition, besides stressful working hours, that Worldlink JSC has many useful
outdoor activities teach me how to work with others in a group effectiely. I have
chance to improve my teamwork skills, support and help each other accoplish targets. I
realized that the unity is the first element that helps my team win. I also have more

good relationship thanks to these activities. Everyone in the company is very friendly
and kind,they always help and guilde me in the internship process.
Last but not least, my microsoft office can be improved significantly after the
internship time. I only study in theory at university but I do not have opportunities to
practice. During my process, I am guided how to photocopy, print, receive and send
faxes. I also learn how to present the contents of documents in the right forms.
Director and members in my department teach me how to write CV, contract and
commercial documents realted the business english that I learned at university.
In general, I feel myself grown up with many experience in dealing with
paperwork, english skills, economic knowledge. Those experiences will help me a lot
of in my futute career and I recognize that English is an important factor in any
companies.

CHAPTER III: EVALUATION ON THE USE OF ENGLISH IN
WORLDLINK JSC
III.1. The reality of using English in Worldlink JSC
In translation activities, English is considered as a necessary and indispensable
tool for all staff in the translation department. Every staff in this department use
English to translate documents from Vietnamese into English and vice versa.
Therefore, they use English everyday but only write but do not listen and speak,
so they may be weaker in reading and listening.
Using English in writing every day will help them hone their grammar and
vocabulary skills but be weak in communication skills. However, a few use the wrong
meaning of words in the different context, which makes the sentences not fruent.
Cabin interpreters will use more English to listen and speak.
Sometimes, the director and deputy director will use English to communicate
with foreign customers to discuss about work and some other issues.

Some employees in the company, especially the consulting department, often use
English to advise customers, respond to customer emails and quote ...
III.2. Some solutions to improve the reality of using English in Worldlink JSC
- When company hires new employees, especially staff in translation department,
they should be tested carefully English skills. After that, company will choice the best
candidate who is suitable with the job opening they recruit.
 The employees should raise their awareness of importance of English in
company as well in the world. They should learn more and develop their own abilities
in English language.
 Soft skills like presenting, managing, team-building,… are very essential for
employees. When they have a full range of soft skills, and good at English, they will
work in the best way. That’s how they show their skills as well the company’s success.
 Translators in the translation always hone English vocaburary and grammar in
the working. They can read more previous materials or on Internet about using words
in the differents context.
 In an integrated environment, everyone needs to know English and treat it as
the second language. Not only managers need to study English well, but the employees
in office also need to know about it

CHAPTER IV: SUGGESTED GRADUATION THESIS TOPIC
Topic: Difficulties in English presentation skill of first-year English major
student at ThuongMai University and some suggested solutions.
Reason: Nowadays, presenting to present any plans, personal opinions in public
is extremely important to lead to the success of each individual or team. Futhermore,
presentation is a teaching and learning method implemented in almost universities
over the world. Thereby, students can develop the skills of exploration, creation, the
ability to work in groups, the ability to think critically. Most students like this method

but doing it well is not easy, students need to equip certain skills to complete the
presentation well, including choosing topics, setting up an outline, collecting data,
compiling content, making slides ... especially the presenter needs to be able to clearly
speaking

in

front

of

the

crowd,

attracting

followers.

In fact, I organized a survey of many first-year students in the English department at
Thuong Mai University to recognize the current situation as well as propose solutions
to improve and improve presentation skills for first-year English major student at
Thuong Mai University.

CONCLUSION
After 4 weeks of interning and being trained at Worldlink JSC, I have finished
my internship successfully with the whole hearted help and careful guide of my

supervisor Mrs.Anh-the director of the company and Mr. Huong, the head of my
department, and all staff of Worldlink JSC. Once again, I would like to thank Ms.Anh
as well as all members of company for supporting and creating favorable conditions
for me in order to complete my internship and this report.
Within the internship time, I have opportunities to do many kind of works.
Therefore, I can gain a lot of knowledge, meet and make friend with many people.
Besides, when I was in ThuongMai university, I learned a variety of lessons. When I
come to a new environment, I have a chance to apply them and it helps me a lot.
I also would like to express my gratitude towards teachers at English
Department- ThuongMai University who direct me a lot to fullfill this internship
report.
