Executive Summary
According to a study by Quoc Hung experts on the need to learn and use foreign
languages in Can Tho, in which 97.7% of students choose listening and speaking
skills as the top priority of learning foreign languages and 57% choose online
learning method in addition to other solutions. Therefore, the project to develop
English listening and speaking skills for students was established and organized at


UEF University of Economics and Finance for students of the Faculty of Tourism
and Hospitality Management within 2 months for the purpose of training create
high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of international integration,
aiming to help students with English communication skills reach level 3 or higher
according to the level 6 competency framework of the Ministry of Education and
Training or achieve corresponding international certificate.
Through building on the framework of the school's English training program, and
at the same time refer to the English program of Ontario, Canada. In addition, the
program pays special attention to linking theory with practice, combining
theoretical knowledge in class with practicing practical skills. During the training
process, the program regularly invites foreign experts to present topics, share
practical experiences, and train students in soft skills. It is therefore possible to
create viability and reliability for this project. During the project, students will take
tests. It can help the supervisory board assess the level of receptivity and make
reasonable adjustments to achieve the desired results. In addition, after completing
the program, the output quality is carefully evaluated to successfully complete
the project.

I. Introduction
1. Project management
The project intends to improve students' foreign language ability, then directly
apply knowledge learned into practice, helping to remember long and form natural
English communication reflexes. The project gives students a real practice environment,
interacting directly with native speakers. The size of each class will be 6 students, each

student will be closely tutored and personalized by the lecturer for each level, thereby
giving advice and solutions to help students get effective learning methods and correct
the weak points and make progress in a short time.
Classes will be held online on Google Meet or Zoom. Each lesson will be fully
supported by experienced instructors and foreign teachers, creating a fun and inspiring
classroom atmosphere.
2. Purpose of report
The report aims to design, plan, solve and analyze the challenges that may be
encountered during project implementation. From there, provide a solution to ensure the
project is executed smoothly.
II. Project Scope
1. Purpose and Rationel
Sharing of the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland
Front Nguyen Thien Nhan about the students' English ability: "I feel sad that our good
students' English is still weak. English is used to communicate only. about 2,500 words.
Having 3,000 words is good reading. There are still 5,000 words that can be translated.
Divided into each day, just learn 2-3 words, then after 3 years of high school, they can
talk normally.”
According to a recent announcement by the International Education First (EF),
Vietnam ranked 29th out of 70 countries in the 2015 ranking of countries' English
proficiency. This index of Vietnam has increased. 4 ranks compared to 2014 and higher

than some countries such as Japan, China, Indonesia... However, in general, the English
level of Vietnamese students is still weak
That's why UEF University cooperates with Olympia center to launch Olympia
Native program: Improve communication skills English for students. The program will
provide general English knowledge to help students gain the language competence to
communicate, exchange issues in life, society, science... Minimum language ability to

live, study, and work in an English-speaking environment
2. Focus
The goal of the project is to train high-quality human resources to meet the
requirements of international integration, aiming to help students with English
communication skills reaching level 3 or higher according to the 6-level competency
framework of Ministry of Education and Training
The project focuses on the following main items:
• Lecturers, teaching methods: a team of teachers with TESOL certificates or
qualifications equivalent, tutors have at least 2 years of experience in
teaching English online. All the program applies an active, student-centered
practice method English inspiration for learners.
• Certification of communication skills: during training, students take tests
tested and will be granted a certificate of practical communication skills,
helping students to be more confident interviewing for a job after
graduation.
• Standard pronunciation course: designed specifically for students in the
quality English program High quality while learning English in class, while
experiencing real practice

Methodology
Olympia Native high-quality English program uses online training method,
specifically students learn English according to the home program school and
practice online in groups of 1:6 with a tutor/native teacher. This methods helps

learners to have practical experience of using English, learning with practice. The
topic is built based on the school's English curriculum framework. The academic
departments of the two sides will agree on the training schedule and duration, the

standard is 45 minutes per week.
1. Vision, Mission & Objective
Vision: To be a part of the context of a high-quality English speaking and listening
training program for students at UEF University
Mission: Establishing a high-quality English-language training program for
students in the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality at Ho Chi Minh City's University of
Economics and Finance.
Objective
• Created a successful English pilot program for students at the Faculty of Tourism
and Hospitality.
• Based on the quality evaluation standard framework, the output quality ratio
approaches 100%.
• In the pilot phase, select a group of students to engage in the study and attain longterm goals in the following phases.
• Negotiate the greatest amount of funding for the project during the pilot period
with Edu2Review.
2. Strategies
a. The Stakeholder Expectations
Edu2Review and Olympia Native project coordinator: this is the most important
first stakeholder because it is the project proponent.
Faculty of Tourism & Hotel Management is the unit receiving and disseminating
the project
IT Center: support to solve problems and provide technical guidance on using
electronic devices before and during the event.

Student Affairs Office: support to borrow rooms to organize events
The manager of the fanpage of the Faculty of Tourism - Hotel Management and
the UEF Information and Communication Center: supporting the marketing of the
event, attracting students to participate

b. The social networking
We decided to communicate the event through the fanpage of the Faculty of
Tourism - Hotel Management, design posters and standees for further support. Use
Facebook friends to increase engagement and event attention. In addition, the
Information and Communication Center of UEF is also a very good place to
promote the event, helping to reach more students.
The communication process will start from posting event information on the
Faculty's fanpage, direct word of mouth to students who are friends of support
group members, and finally posting on the school's fanpage to attract other
faculty students.
3. Action plan
a. Project overview
Regarding the venue, the program's activities will be held at the University of
Economics and Finance, located at 141 Dien Bien Phu, Ward 17, Binh Thanh District, Ho
Chi Minh City. The event had two major activities, which are shown in the table below.

b. Timing
After agreeing on the things to do for the Opening and Tea Break sessions, the
team had a detailed work assignment for each department and a timeline for the activities.

c. Budgeting
The budget for the event is sponsored by the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality
Management at 1 million VND, the missing part will be added by the group's own fund.
This is a detailed plan of what the team intends to spend.

V. Resource allocation
According to the nature of the event, the opinions of the team members and the
guidance of the subject lecturers, the group has agreed and divided the personnel into 3
subgroups: Hospitality, Marketing and Operations. The operation group is divided into 2
small groups for easy management and work more effectively, one group will be in
charge of the content, planning the timeline for the event (Programme team), the other
will be in charge of risk management, setup and asking the Faculty for help room
assistance to organize events (Venue team)
