VSTEP Speaking part 1 (Tương tác xã hội – Social Interaction)
Một số từ để hỏi quen thuộc, học viên phải thuộc những từ để hỏi
này thì mới hiểu được câu hỏi của đề nói, khi đọc câu hỏi phải
thật chú ý đến từ để hỏi, động từ, nhìn vào đó để mình biết được
câu hỏi hỏi về gì.
Who: Đây là từ dùng để hỏi về người. (Ai)
Ví dụ: Who are you close in your family? Close: gần gũi, trong gia đình
bạn ai là người gần gũi với bạn?
If you were going on a long trip, Who would you go with? Nếu bạn
đi 1 chuyến đi nghỉ dài, bạn sẽ muốn đi cùng ai?
Who do you live with?
Whose: Đây là từ dùng để hỏi về sự sở hữu. Của ai
Ví dụ: Whose are these books? (Những quyển sách này là của ai thế?)
They are mine; They are Tom’s.
Whose car is it? It is Mr. Lam’s. / It is mine = my car/ It is his = his car.
Where: Đây là từ dùng để hỏi về vị trí, địa điểm. Nơi nào
Ví dụ: Where is your hometown? (quê của bạn ở đâu) Where are you
going this weekend? (cuối tuần) đi đâu vào ngày cuối tuần; Where were
you born?
When: Đây là từ dùng để hỏi về thời gian. Khi nào
Ví dụ: When will you go out with your mother? (Khi nào thì bạn sẽ ra ngoài
với mẹ của bạn?) When were you born? Ngày tháng năm sinh, I was born
on 14th, August, 1990
When is your birthday? Ngày sinh nhật It is on 14th August
What: Đây là từ dùng để hỏi thông tin về một thứ hay một vấn đề nào đó,
nó cũng được sử dụng để hỏi ai đó nhằm xác định thơng tin chính xác hay
nhắc lại về điều vừa nói.
Ví dụ: What time do you get up? (Bạn thức dậy lúc mấy giờ?)
What time do you wake up? Thức dậy nhưng vẫn ở trên giường
What time do you go to work? Mấy giờ đi làm
What time do you have breakfast? Mấy giờ ăn sáng

What is your name? (Bạn tên là gì?)
1. What is your mother like? Hỏi về mẹ bạn như thế nào, tính
cách? She is friendly, helpful, kind
2. What does your mother like? Câu hỏi mẹ bạn thích gì, sở thích?
She likes cooking; shopping; watching TV
3. What does your mother look like? Mẹ bạn hình dáng ntn? Ngoại
hình? She is beautiful, She is tall and slim (mảnh mai); thin; She has black
eyes and long dark hair.
What kind of (loại gì)? What kind of music do you like?


what kind of sports do you like? what kind of films, what kind of
books? ….. Loại gì?
What for: Đây là từ dùng để hỏi về một lý do hay một nguyên nhân, mục
đích
Ví dụ: What made you do that for? (Điều gì đã khiến bạn làm như vậy?)
What do you use your mobile phone/ the Internet for? (Dùng điện thoại/
Internet để làm gì)
In what ways: = How (như thế nào?)
In what ways has children’s English much improved nowadays?
In what ways is café a great place for people to enjoy their free time?
Why: Đây là từ dùng để hỏi về nguyên nhân của sự việc.
Ví dụ: Why are you always late? (Tại sao bạn lại luôn đến muộn?)
Để trả lời cho câu hỏi “why” ta thường bắt đầu bằng từ “ Because…”/
cause (Interesting/ restaurant/ history/interest)
Why don’t: Đây là từ dùng để đưa ra câu hỏi gợi ý làm một việc gì đó.
Mời, rủ nhau
Ví dụ: Why don’t we drink milk? (Tại sao chúng ta lại không uống sữa
nhỉ?)

Why don’t we go to the cinema?
Which: Đây là từ dùng để hỏi khi muốn biết đáp án của một sự lựa chọn
nào đó. Cái nào trong 2 cái
Ví dụ: Which drink did you order – tea or coffee? (Bạn đã gọi đồ uống nào
– trà hay cà phê?)
Which season do you like, summer or winter?
How: Đây là từ dùng để hỏi về cách thức, đặc tính, tính cách của chủ thể.
Ví dụ: How are you? How old are you? (Bạn bao nhiêu tuổi)
How do you go to work? How do you go to school? Hỏi về phương
tiện
How long: Đây là từ dùng để hỏi về thời gian. Bao lâu
Ví dụ: How long will you finish your homework? (Bạn mất bao lâu để kết
thúc bài tập về nhà?)
How long have you been learning English? Bạn học tiếng anh bao
lâu rồi?
How long have you been living in your house?
How long have you been living here?
How far: Đây là từ dùng để hỏi về khoảng cách, nó thường đi cùng với
“from”. Bao xa
Ví dụ: How far is it from your house to museum? (Khoảng cách từ nhà bạn
đến bảo tàng là bao xa?) Km: kilometer


How far is it from your house to your office? Từ nhà đến văn phòng
bao xa
How much/many: Đây là cụm từ dùng để hỏi về số lượng. Với những
danh từ không đếm được ta dùng “how much” và với những danh từ đếm
được ta dùng “how many”.
Ví dụ: How many people are there in your English class? (Có bao
nhiêu người trong lớp học tiếng Anh của bạn?)

How much rice do you need to eat? (Bạn cần ăn bao nhiêu cơm?)
How much money/ How much time/ How much water/ homework……
How many students/ How many children/ How many hours…..
How much is your dress? Giá tiền cái váy (3 million; millions of
people) million chỉ thêm s khi đi với giới từ of
How often: tần suất bao lâu 1 lần

B1B2 Speaking part 1 (Tương tác xã hội – Social Interaction)


Thí sinh sẽ trả lời 6 câu hỏi liên quan đến 2 chủ đề quen thuộc,
mỗi chủ đề gồm 3 câu hỏi ví dụ về q qn, cơng việc, sở thích,
gia đình, …. Mỗi chủ đề chỉ có hơn 1 phút để trả lời 3 câu hỏi nên
phải trả lời đúng, nói nhanh, dứt khốt, ko ê a mất thời gian, để
mất thời gian thì sẽ ko có thời gian trả lời các câu sau nữa, học
viên phải thật lưu ý điều này.
Phương pháp làm bài: Trả lời khoảng 2 câu
 Với câu hỏi YES/NO, trả lời Yes hoặc No; Mở rộng ý khi
nói, cung cấp thêm thơng tin; đừng chỉ trả lời Yes hoặc
No. Có thể mở rộng ý bằng cách đưa ra các lý do; ví dụ;
giải thích;
 Với câu hỏi WH-questions, phải trả lời đúng yêu cầu của
đề bài sau đó mới mở rộng thêm ý, cung cấp thêm thông
tin
 B1 cung cấp thêm khoảng 1 câu; B2 thêm khoảng 2 câu

• I like summer because I have a long summer holiday.

well with = close to (có mối quan hệ tốt) my mother. She
always listens to me. She always gives me good/useful advice
(cho lời khuyên) when I have problems in my life. Besides
(ngoài ra), she is the person whom I can tell my secret to./ I

1. What do you usually do in your free time? Bạn làm gì vào thời gian

- Well, in my spare/free time I like watching TV. I am busy during the day
so I love watching the news in the evening while our family are having
dinner. Besides, I enjoy listening to music. My favorite kind of music is
POP music.
- Whenever I have free time, I usually listen to music. I am a big fan of
pop music which helps me to relax after hard- working days. I also have
an interest in reading books. In my pastime, I usually read some comics.
- In my free time, I like reading newspapers and watching TV.
2. What do you usually do on weekends and weekdays?

I am quite busy (bận) during the week. I work from 8 a.m to 5 p.m on
weekdays so in the evening I often cook dinner, stay at home and chat
with my family members about what they have done during the day.

At weekends, I have free time, I often go out with my friends or visit my
relatives. Sometimes, my family go on holiday to the beach or the
mountain or the countryside.

different media such as TV, Internet, radio, newspaper……/ it is easy and

- I am from ………../ my hometown is Hanoi. Hanoi is the capital of
Vietnam, Hanoi has a lot of famous tourist attractions: Hoan Kiem Lake,
Uncle Ho Mausoleum (Lăng Bác), the Temple of Literature (Văn Miếu).
Hanoi also has many kinds of traditional food like Pho, bun cha.

- My father is humorous, he often tells jokes (kể chuyện cười) that make
us laugh. Besides, he is very strict. He never allows me to come home

come to her when I have any problems. She is really my idol and I want to

My father has had the most influence in my life. It is my father who
strictly taught me valuable/good lessons in life and always stands by my

- There are many advantages of travelling. Firstly, travelling broadens
our mind. When you travel, you learn many new things such as new
cultures, local people’s ways of life. Secondly, you can visit many
beautiful places and take part in interesting activities. Finally, travelling
helps you relax and it is a great way to spend time with family and
friends.

6. Why do so many people travel nowadays? Tại sao ngày nay nhiều
người đi du lịch?
- I think nowadays more and more people travel because of several
reasons. Firstly, transportation is much more convenient today such as


airplanes, trains, buses are popular and not too expensive. Secondly,
people can earn more money so they might want to travel to spend
time with family and friends and relax after busy working hours.

5.1 Let’s talk about favourite beach
1. What is your favourite beach in Vietnam?
- There are many beautiful beaches in VN but my favourite one is Da
nang because it’s tidy and clean. Especially the view is fantastic.
- I love Sam Son beach where I often go on holiday every summer
2. How often do you go there? I go there every summer with my friends
because I have a long summer holiday. When I go to the beach, I feel very
relaxed and live with the nature.
3. What do you often do when you are there? There are many activities
we can do when we are on the beach such as swimming, enjoying
seafood, taking photos, walking along the beach, seeing the sunrise and
sunset. It’s a great time to reduce stress after hard work.

When I am sad, I often stay at home listening to music or watching TV,
going walking with my friends in the park.

I prefer there with my friends because we have the same hobby and it’s a

places to go but I think beach is the best choice because it’s a fantastic
place to reduce stress and enjoy a lot of activities such as swimming,

Yes, I like traveling because it helps me relax and feel comfortable, I can
explore new places, broadens my mind.

2. What kind of places have you visited in your life?
I have visited many places in VietNam such as : Nha Trang, Da Nang,
HCM. They are beautiful and exciting.

I prefer to go on holiday overseas because I can explore new places and I
can make friends and open the relationship. Moreover, I can improve my
knowledge and open my mind.
3. What are advantages and disadvantages of holiday overseas?
Thuận lợi, bất lợi của du lịch nước ngoài?
There are some advantages of holiday overseas. Firstly, I can experience
new place, new culture, new habits and customs of many countries in the
world. Secondly, I can open my knowledge and enrich my mind.
However, there are some disadvantages of holidays overseas. Firstly, it’s
very expensive. Secondly, it’s difficult to communicate with foreigners if
we don’t know about the foreign language. Moreover, when we have
oversea holidays, we have to spend much time off from work and study,
so it can have a bad effect on our job and study schedule. Finally, when
we go on holiday abroad, there are new places we don’t know, thus we

can be lost or cannot find the way to the right destination.


Topic 6. Friends
1. Do you have many friends? Are they casual acquaintances or close
friends? Bạn có nhiều bạn ko? Họ là người quen hay bạn thân?
I have many friends but only some of them are close friends
because I think we should have only several close friends to spend time
and share everything with. For example: we study and relax together.
2. Do you prefer to stay with your family or with your friends? Bạn
thích ở nhà với gia đình hay với bạn?
- I prefer/like to stay with my friends because then I have more freedom. I
can do whatever I like. Moreover, staying with my friends helps me learn
better as we can share learning materials and discuss difficult questions.
Finally, sometimes it is easier to share with friends than with family
members.
- I want to spend time with my family members. I can cook good
food and watch TV with them. I feel really happy when being with
them.
3. Do you prefer one or two close friends or many friends? Bạn thích
có 1 hoặc 2 người bạn thân hay nhiều bạn?
I prefer to have just one or 2 close friends because If I had many close
friends, I wouldn’t have enough time to spend with them all. Having only
one or 2 close friends I can easily share with them my secrets and
happiness. Besides, we can get together and have interesting
conversations more often.

Most of my friends are about my age because we met at school or

university. I have got several friends who are older or younger than me as
we met at work.

I tend to meet up with my friends at weekends because
everyone’s/ we are too busy during the week.

I like music because it makes me feel relaxed after hard working hours.

I like pop music best because I like soft and beautiful melody. Besides, It
really helps me reduce stress.
3. What are the benefits of listening to music? Lợi ích của việc nghe

Listening to music has several advantages. Firstly, it helps you relax
after long working hours. It motivates (tạo động lực) you to work better.
Moreover, music allows you sleep better. That’s why many people
listen to music before bedtime.

taxi… However, motorbike is the most popular means of transport
because it’s fast, convenient and small in enough to run on the street.
Moreover, the price of motorbike is reasonable.

traffic jams. Firstly, we should use public transport instead of
private cars. Secondly, the government should invest more
money to open the new road and upgrade the road that helps to
reduce the traffic jam. More importantly, everyone should be
educated to follow the traffic rules and will be punished strictly if
they break the traffic rules.
