Political stability is one of the most critical factors
influencing

Vietnam's

economic

development

policy.

Vietnam enjoys peace and prosperity as a result of its stable
political environment.
According

to

the

state's

export

promotion

policy,

Vietnamese footwear exporters benefit from a preferential
import tax on raw materials (for exports) and a 0% export

tax on finished products (Nhien, 2022).
The leather and footwear industry is one of the year's
National Key Trade Promotion Program's key industries.
This is a program that has received active support in order to
increase the leather and footwear industry's export turnover.
When the CPI in September 2022 increased by 3.94% over
the same period last year, Vietnam remained in the countries
with low inflation rates compared to the general level. The
garments, hats, and footwear group increased by 0.16% over
the previous month due to the price of production materials,
labour costs, and the demand for procurement in preparation
for the new school year (Thom, 2022).

Since the beginning of 2021, when the US economy
recovered strongly from the Covid-19 pandemic, the USD
has begun to appreciate in the international market.
However, the VND/USD exchange rate remained stable
throughout 2021, at less than 23,000 VND/USD (Tin, 2022).
Vietnam has achieved impressive development achievements
with outstanding results after 35 years. Vietnam's economic
scale has grown 12 times, per capita income has grown 8.3
times, export-import turnover has grown 29.5 times, and
foreign direct investment (FDI) has grown 22 times.


According to the new standard, the national poverty rate fell
from 58% in 1993 to 2.23% in 2021. (Minh, 2022).
According to statistics, Vietnam's footwear industry is
creating jobs for over 500,000 workers, of which 80% are

female. In many leather and footwear enterprises, the
proportion of female employees accounts for 95-98% of the
total number of employees. However, the European
Community's anti-dumping investigation has negatively
affected Vietnam's leather and footwear export industry.

According to the most recent United Nations figures, the
current population of Vietnam is 99,182,270 people, with an
average age of 33.3 as of October 21, 2022. As a result, the
sandal model for the age group 17-25 still has many
potential customers.
Some Vietnamese people believe that wearing sandals
increases the risk of cracked heels. Flat sandals, with their
flat and thin soles incapable of absorbing shocks, can put the
customer's feet under pressure from the body's weight.

Designers must constantly innovate and create in the current
era, alongside the advancement of fashion and scientific and
technological achievements. In addition to the development
of shoe materials, the quality improvement process and the
use of information technology, mainly 3D technology, are in
the design stage - the most crucial stage in the manufacturing
process. The manufacturing of footwear has resulted in a
breakthrough for the footwear industry.
Businesses are increasingly focusing on and implementing
modern and automatic footwear factory equipment to meet

the increasing demands for footwear quality, such as
hydraulic presses, steam presses, automatic glue pumps, and
mound machines.

One of the things that everyone dislikes about tropical
summer is the hot, humid air. Wearing sandals will provide a
relaxed and comfortable feeling.
In the shoe industry, raw materials production and extraction
account for more than 60% of emissions. Manufacturing
processes, which include cutting and machining, account for
43% of emissions. As a result, the waste generated during
the sandal manufacturing process should be strictly
controlled (Phuong, 2021).

The Vietnamese government is gradually tightening waste
regulations in response to growing concerns about global
warming. A footwear factory was recently fined 70 million
dongs and suspended for some time for polluting the land
environment.
If the sandals model is successful in the market, it is easy for
domestic or Chinese factories to steal ideas. The government
must strengthen copyright protection.
