Education has undergone some changes in the last 50 years. It may not
be what we expected, but in unexpected ways, many things have become
different, but few things remain.
Transportation and lunch catering services are examples of distinctions.
Schools did not provide transportation because they were built one to two
miles from where the students lived, and that distance was deemed close
enough for walking. Students were also not served lunch at the schools.
Unlike today, when schools provide lunch for students, every student had to
bring their food and water from home.
Aside from the differences, the two eras share some similarities.
Schools today generally maintain the same structure as in previous decades,
with students following a set schedule, beginning, ending, and shifting classes
simultaneously. Furthermore, graduates persist in earning higher wages than
those without a good education because they have opportunities to develop
their skills and cognitive development.
In conclusion, the changes in education over the last 50 years or so
appear to be making things easier for students. At the same time, students get
more job opportunities and higher salaries compared to those without
education.
