climate regions

Effects of climate change

Spring (Feb-May): Mildly warm and chilly.

Summer (June-Aug): Hot and sunny.

Autumn (Sep-November): sunny but cold

and mildly warm in the afternoon.

Winter (Dec-Feb): cold, sunny or cloud
and snowy.
1.Seasons

Northwest Pacific: wettest, rain,
40ºF(33,2ºC). Summer: never too hot,
Winter: quite cold.

Mid/south Pacific: California: quiet chilly in
the winter but seldom freezing, 0ºF.

Midwest: Dry. Summers: pleasant.
Winter: a lot of snows and heavy chilly
winds. Temperature drop down to -50ºF.
2. Six climate regions:

Northeast: Rainy. Winters: heavy
snow and freezing rain.
Summers: pleasant, sunny and
warm.

Southeast: rains. The spring,
summer and autumn are pleasant.
The winters are quite cold.

Southwest: hottest and high rainfall,
heavy rains with thunder storms.
3. Effects of climate

change

Southwest: Increasing temperatures,
severe droughts.

Northwest: Sea level rise, coastal
erosion.

Southeast: affect the growth and
productivity of crops and forests.

Midwest: hotter summer, longer dry and
milder and wetter winter.

Population: over 8 million people.
Total area: 54,556 square miles.
2. Los Angeles
Position: the West Coast of the USA.
Population: almost 4 million people.
Total area: 469,1 square miles.

Position: the East Coast of the USA
Population: over 6 million people.
Total area: 68,3 square miles.
4. Chicago
Position: the Northeastern Illinois on the
Southwestern shore Lake Michigan
Population: 2,7 million people.
Total area: 606,1 square kilometers

1.Population
• Total: 311 million people ( in 2011)
• More than 79% are urban population
• The largest minority were Hispanics for 12.5%

The African-American : Population numbered 12.3%
An additional 0.6% of the population were of African-
American origin in part.

The Asian : Population totaled 3.6%
An additional 0.6% of the population had a mixed-race
background that was partially Asian


The Native American: Population 0.9%
An additional 0.6% were of partial Native American
origin.
