Fore word

This British Standard has been prepared under the direction of the Automobile
Standards Committee. It combines and metricates the requirements of
BS AU 1 6: 1 963 and BS AU 39: 1 964 which were based on data sheets SMMT 1 41
and 1 48 respectively and are now withdrawn. It also makes provision for a
crimped version of the bullet type connector as an alternative to the soldered type.
A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a
contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application.
