Foreword
This European Standard (EN 3155-043:2006) has been prepared by the European Association of Aerospace
Manufacturers - Standardization (AECMA-STAN).
After enquiries and votes carried out in accordance with the rules of this Association, this Standard has
received the approval of the National Associations and the Official Services of the member countries of
AECMA, prior to its presentation to CEN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2006, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by October 2006.

Scope

This standard specifies the required characteristics and tests applicable to female triaxial contacts 043,
size 08, type D, solder, class P, used in elements of connection according to EN 3155-002.
The associated male contacts are defined in EN 3155-042.
These contacts are derived from and are interchangeable with those of standard AS 39029/95.

Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this standard, the terms and definitions given in EN 3155-001 apply.

Required characteristics

Type D contacts are contacts with screening feature and class P corresponds to an operating temperature
range from – 65 °C to 125 °C.

See Figure 1 for dimensions and tolerances.
Dimensions are given in millimetres after treatment.
Total mass of contact: 4,80 g max.

Material, surface treatment of contact

4.2.1

Body material

Copper alloy for the contact bodies.
4.2.2

Protection

Gold on an appropriate undercoat for copper alloy parts (selective protection permitted). Thickness of
protection not specified.

4.3

Permitted cables


Single braided cable: in accordance with EN 3375-003
Double braided cable: in accordance with EN 3375-004

Code A, see Clause 5.

High immunity cable: in accordance with EN 3375-005
A single type of contact covers these three types of permitted cables.
For cable stripping, see Figure 2.
