This British Standard is the official English language version of
EN 62018:2003. It is identical with IEC 62018:2003.
The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical Committee
EPL/108, Safety of electronic equipment within the field of audio/video,
information technology and communication technology, which has the
responsibility to:


aid enquirers to understand the text;



present to the responsible international/European committee any
enquiries on the interpretation, or proposals for change, and keep the
UK interests informed;
monitor related international and European developments and
promulgate them in the UK.

Foreword
The text of document 1 08/65/FDIS, future edition 1 of IEC 6201 8, prepared by IEC TC 1 08, Safety of
electronic equipment within the field of audio/video, information technology and communication
technology, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved by CENELEC as
EN 6201 8 on 2003-1 0-01 .
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
national standard or by endorsement
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
with the EN have to be withdrawn

The following is the m inim um inform ation that shall be recorded for each configuration tested:







EUT m anufacturer’s nam e and trade m ark or identification m ark and m odel or type
reference and the serial num ber of the EUT;
configuration and work load used for the test;
am bient tem perature during the tests;
input power supply – actual voltage and frequency;
power consum ption in the fu l l -on mode ;
power consum ption in each applicable en ergy savi n g mode .
