Dear Jacob,
Thanks for your letter, I was overwhelmingly delighted to receive it yesterday.
Now, I’m writing to tell you some things about the wonderful holiday that I
enjoyed last weekend.
As the plan I told you in my last letter, I had a wonderful trip to Phu Quoc island
with my family last weekend. It is a famous beautiful district island in a Southern
province of Vietnam called Kien Giang; thus, we enjoyed interesting outdoor
activities such as having a boat tour, squid fishing, and snorkelling to admire the
beauty of colourful coral reefs. Furthermore, we tried delicious dishes there
which were cooked from fresh seafood and organic vegetables. I really love the
seafood hotpot.
One more important thing I want to share with you is what I learned from the
trip. Honestly, I was extremely surprised by the beauty of nature in my nation, it
really widened my knowledge about the value and importance of the

environment to our economic and mental life. Now, I clearly understand how
important environmental protection is.
Well, it’s time to stop. Write to me as soon as possible, please. I’m waiting for your
letter.
Best wishes,
Windy

TASK 2
Traffic accidents are among the major causes of mortality all over the world.
What are some reasons and solutions for it?
Write an essay to an educated reader to discuss the reasons causing traffic
accidents and suggest some solutions to reduce them.
You should write at least 250 words.
Your response will be evaluated in terms of Task Fulfillment, Organization,
Vocabulary and Grammar.
In recent years, traffic accidents have drawn much attention from almost every
person in the world because it is statistically figured out to be one of the major
factors of the death rate worldwide. Hence, the main reasons for this issue will be
analysed in this piece of writing, and some possible measures are also suggested
in order to limit it.
To commence with, there are both subjective and objective causes resulting in
accidents. Firstly, it is undeniable that the poor condition of the infrastructure,
bad weather conditions, and suddenly damaged machines may lead to unwanted
things happening to road users. Undoubtedly, potholes, fog, heavy rainfall, and
failure of brakes or steering will make driving risky. Secondly, most fatal

accidents occur due to human errors. Indeed, several rude behaviours such as
speeding, drunken driving, red jumping, and violation of rules are considered the
leading factors contributing to road fatality. For instance, one survey of studies
found that blood alcohol was present in 33 per cent to 69 per cent of fatally
injured drivers in developing countries.
Regarding the solutions, prevention is better than cure; consequently, crashes
should be prevented by the effort of both government and citizens. As planners
and enforcers, politicians should invest more to ensure the public transport
systems and infrastructure are always in good condition so that they would
attract more passengers, alongside reducing the number of private vehicles.
Besides, they should educate and propagate to enhance the residents’ awareness
about road safety. Furthermore, they may pass strict laws with serious fines for
those who are the key root of the misfortune. Vice versa, the traffic participants
have to respect and obey the law to avoid bad luck.
To conclude, although this one of the leading key origins of global mortality is the
consequence of various matters, it will be limited or averted as long as there are
enough resolutions from every member of the community.
