and Mẹo each get?
3. Some school buses were hired(thuê) for a pre-holiday excursion(chuyến du ngoạn). If school buses
with 35 seats were hired, 10 students would not get to board(lên) the bus. If buses with 40 seats were
hired instead(thay thế), there would be an extra(dư) bus.

6. An artist and his assistant were to make a certain number of pieces of handicraft together. They
originally planned to finish this task in 20 days. In the end, the artist ended up producing 5 more such
pieces of handicraft each day. His assistant, on the other hand, produced 3 more such pieces of handicraft


each day. As a result, they were able to finish their work in 16 days. How many pieces of handicraft were
made?
7. Dion and Eddie have some savings each. If dion spends $30 and Eddie spends $60 every week, Eddie
will have $70 when Dion has used up all her savings. If Eddie spends $30 and Dion spends $60 every week,
Eddie will have $520 when Dion has used up her savings. How much does each of them have?
8. The average score obtained by a group of students in an English test was 92. Among the students, the
boys scored an average of 90 and the girls scored an average of 93.5. How many boys were there if there
are 20 girls?
9. There was a certain number of apples at a wholesale center. If the apples were sold at $2.50 per kg, the
wholesale would lose $50. If the apples were sold at $3 per kg, the wholesaler would earn $90. How much
should 1kg of apples be priced if the wholesaler wanted to earn $62 from the sale of all the apples?
10. There are some white and blue balloons. The number of blue balloons is thrice that of the white ones.
If 3 white balloons and 7 blue balloons are removed each time, 18 blue balloons are left when all the white
ones have been removed. How many white balloons are there? How many blue balloons are there?
11. A teacher distributes some jellies to two groups of children. Each child received 6 jellies. If all the jellies
were given to the children in the first group instead, each child would receive 10 jellies. How many jellies
would each child receive if all the the jellies were given to the children in the second group?
12. Long needs to drive to another town for a business meeting. If he drives at 75km/h, he will reach the
town at 1 pm. If he drives at 100km/h, he will arrive at 12 pm. At what speed must Long drive so that he
can reach the town at 12.45 pm?
13. Jack has the same number of black and red beans as Ken. If Jack gives away 2 black beans and 2 red
beans every day, he will still have 40 red ones left when all the black beans are given away. If Ken gives
away 3 red beans and 1 black bean every day, 40 black beans will be left when all the red ones are given
away. How many black and red beans does each of them have?

14. 60 tourists checked into a countryside hotel. There were 32 men and 28 women. Men and women were
to stay in different rooms. The rooms came tin three different sizes. 6,4 and 2 people could stay in a big,
medium and small room respectively. The tourists preferred to stay in big rooms. The small rooms were
the least preferred. How many small, medium and big rooms were required if each room were to be fully
occupied?

28 women:
28 : 6 = 4 R 4 =>medium
