1. CÁC ĐỘNG TỪ THEO SAU BỞI DANH ĐỘNG TỪ (Ving)
Avoid, consider, admit, delay, deny, dislike, enjoy, finish, mind, postpone, recall, regret, risk,
suggest, stop, understand, keep, discuss, carry on, can’t help, can’t stand, give up, go, go on, put off,
quit, spend/ waste time, it’s no use/good, be in front of, be interested in, would mind …
Ex: the boy admitted breaking the vase. She suggested taking me to the railway station. He can’t
give up smoking. He is interested in watching TV.
2. CÁC ĐỘNG TỪ THEO SAU BỞI ĐỘNG TỪ NGUYÊN THỂ (Vinf) CÓ “TO”
Agree, aim, ask, decide, demand, expect, happen, hope, learn, manage, need, would like, would
hate, can’t afford, can’t wait, neglect, plan, promise, refuse, seek, seem, struggle, swear, tend, train,
threaten, want, wish, …
Ex: Tom learnt to drive when he was 18. They agreed to lend me some money. I hope to meet you
soon. We decided not to go out because of the bad weather.
3. ĐỘNG TỪ THEO SAU BỞI ĐỘNG TỪ NGUYÊN THỂ KHÔNG CÓ “TO”
Help, make, let
Ex: He help me carry the bags. They make me cry. They didn’t let me know.
4. ĐỘNG TỪ THEO SAU BỞI TÂN NGỮ VÀ ĐỘNG TỪ NGUYÊN THỂ CÓ “TO”
Advise, beg, dare, enable, encourage, instruct, invite, lead, order, persuade, remind, select, send,
teach, tell, train, urge, warn, …
Ex: They reminded me to phone Ann tomorrow. She taught me to drive. My parents encourage me to
join the competition. I invited John come my birthday party. She warned me not to touch anything.
5. Động từ đi sau tính từ:
Nếu động từ đi ngay sau tính từ (không có giới từ) thì được dùng ở dạng nguyên thể. Những tính từ
đó bao gồm.

Các động từ đặc biệt
1. Stop
a) Stop to do smt: dừng lại để làm gì
Ex: He stoped to smoke.
b) Stop doing smt: dừng làm việc gì
Ex: He stoped smoking.
2. Remember
a) Remember to do smt: Nhớ sẽ phải làm gì
Ex: Remember to send this letter.
b) Remember doing smt: Nhớ là đã làm gì
Ex: I remember locking the door before leaving, but now I can't find the key.
Đặc biệt nó thường được dùng với mẫu câu: S + still remember + V-ing : Vẫn còn nhớ là đã
Ex: I still remember buying the first motorbike
3. Forget
a) Forget to do smt: quên sẽ phải làm gì
Ex: I forgot to pickup my child after school.
b) Forget doing smt: (quên là đã làm gì). Đặc biệt nó thường được dùng với mẫu câu S + will never
forget + V-ing: sẽ không bao giờ quên được là đã
Ex: She will never forget meeting the Queen.
4. Regret

a) Regret to do smt: Lấy làm tiếc vì phải làm gì (thường dùng khi báo tin xấu)
Ex: We regret to inform the passengers that the flight for Washington DC was canceled because of
the bad weather.
b) Regret doing smt: Lấy làm tiếc vì đã làm gì
Ex: He regrets leaving school early. It's the biggest mistake in his life.
5. Like
a) Like to do sth: Thích vì nghĩ rằng điều gì đó tốt
Ex: I like to go jogging at weekend to keep me fit.
b) Like doing sth: Sở thích
Ex: He likes walking along in the rain.
6. Want/ Need
Want/ Need + to Vinf: Dùng với chủ ngữ là người
Want/ Need + Ving/ to be + PP: Dùng với chủ ngữ là vật
