USED OIL ANALYSIS & INTERPRETATION
How to sample engine oil
•
Take sample while engine is hot & well mixed
•
Take sample before the oil filter
•
Last resort from drain plug, deposits accumulate
in that area
•
Prevent contamination of oil sample
•
Use new clean container
•
Take samples the same way each time
•
Follow sampling schedule
•
Label correctly, date, engine no.,Hours of
operation, the last time new oil is topped up.
•
Sent promptly to lab
