ENM301– SPEAKING QUESTIONS
Unit 1
1. Why do people buy brands? How loyal are you to the brands you have chosen?
The things that motivate people to buy brands are they have product features that
people want.
Ex: They buy a certain smartphone because it has many functions such as video
calling, web surfing, and many other interesting functions.
People buy it because of the influence of that brand name. When people consider
buying a product or a service that they can afford, they often choose well-known
brands because of their popularity and it always comes first when they think about
the products or services they have.
Ex: Like smartphones, we often prefer brands like Samsung or iPhone to other
brands that we don't know much about because of their popularity.
Finally, they buy brands because of their quality and price.
For quality, They tend to choose brands with better product quality than others
with the same price, quality here can be the material or durability of the product.
On the other hand, when the products or services of the brands are of equal
quality, they prefer to buy a brand at a cheaper price.
But for me, when I choose a brand that makes me feel satisfied, I will be loyal to
that brand for a long time. Very few people will continue to buy from a brand if
the value isn't there anymore.

2. What are the benefits and drawbacks for companies of product endorsements?
Celebrity endorsement comes with multiple advantages to the company or brand.
Some include:

Product endorsements help your brand be able to stand out.

This strategy means that we Borrow the influence and popularity of public figures
to attract consumers' attention. Including someone well-known in an advertisement

may also improve brand awareness to the customer, allowing you to stay at the top
of their mind more often.

Increase followers: They also have lots of followers on social media. When
celebrities make your product known, you will gain more followers 3 which is
never a bad thing.

Drawback:
The image of an endorsement changes over time. Celebrities make mistakes. And
when they do, they can affect the brands they endorse.
Overexposure 3 this refers to a negative effect that occurs when a celebrity
endorses many similar products. As consumers will doubt the endorser's
motivations, his credibility as well as our brand awareness may be questionable.
In addition, companies may also get caught in trouble when their endorsing person
gets involved in a scandal. The negative image created may spill onto the
advertised brand.

3. How can a company create brand loyalty?
Engage with your customers
Connecting with your users in many ways that you can, one of those is through
social networks. It helps you to create a sense of belonging and community. You
can share your brand new and exciting developments, news, and opinions in your
space, to get your users enthusiastic and engaged or create activities to interact
with customers like giving away products. In this way, consumers will feel more
interested and loyal to your brand.
Solicit feedback from consumers. Stay in touch with your consumer, ask their
opinion of your business, did they like their most recent experience with your
company, and whether were they satisfied with the customer service.
Make sure that your clients know that you respond to the demands of your

consumer. If you want your customer to come back, give them what they want!
Give them a reason to come back. Provide incentives for consumers to return to
your company instead of the competition. Create programs that reward loyalty to
your brand. Consider giving insider access, special status, and other nonmonetary-driven incentives.
4. What action can companies take if they start to lose market share?
-

Because losing market share is always accompanied by reduced competitive
advantage, reduced profits, higher costs, and a threat of losing the market.
Companies need a strategy to gain market share for energy and life. They Need To
Be Innovative, Instant Customer Feedback, Can Use Customer Ideas, Competitor
Acquisition.

When a company starts to face a decline in its market share, it has to initially analyze
the reason for the decline. You need to explore Which primary competitors are
gaining market share, and how they are doing it. Moreover, you need to analyze and
understand their product mix, customer service attributes, and so on.
After that, they need to have some marketing campaigns like lower product pricing or
promoting the brand. With a lower pricing strategy, Consumers are frequently looking
for good deals, therefore offering discount promotions boosts sales by generating a
rush for consumers to acquire the offer while it's still available.
Another approach is to change its methods of promotion, which can include raising
the advertising budget or using the power of branding for the firm. It depends on how
well company leaders identify the specific issues that need to be addressed, playing
with promotional efforts can be very successful, or often just simply a costly exercise.

1. Which brand interests you most? What image and qualities does it have? ( Thương
hiệu nào bạn quan tâm nhất? Nó có những hình ảnh và phẩm chất gì? )
The brand that I am most interested in is Apple. Apple's profile picture is a partially

would be better suited for this job.
10. Do you agree with this statement: People remember the ad, not the product? (Do
you agree with this statement: People remember the ad, not the product?)

rambling action keeps people from knowing what the final item is. However, there are

also some ads that are easy to understand but do not attract viewers. For example, the
advertisements in Thailand,

12. Do you agree with this statement: advertisement has a bad influence on children? (
Bạn có đồng ý với nhận định này khơng: quảng cáo có ảnh hưởng xấu đến trẻ em? )

This statement is not really true, but it is not necessarily wrong because TV ads are
completely harmless to children. However, young children are getting new access to
the internet quite a lot and on websites and social networks there are many
uncontrollable and inappropriate spam advertisements. That unintentionally becomes
a danger to children today
14. What factors do you think are important for getting a job? Why? ( Bạn nghĩ những

Unit 3
5. What problems do businesses face when going through change?
Resistance can come from a change in the routine. Employees may worry about what
might happen to their role and their job. Even after the change, employees may still resist
if they feel new workflows make their jobs harder. (By supporting your staff with
reassurance, alongside offering new training, gives employees the time they need to adapt
to organizational change.)
Setbacks
Setbacks are inevitable, but you can reduce their impact by identifying them before they
happen. Never presume your steps towards change will be flawless. Your method won't is
foolproof, and it's difficult to accurately foresee the future. (When something goes wrong,
maintain a positive attitude, implementing measures to prevent recurrences. If your team
pitches in to help, the delay will shorten considerably.)
Planning
The change will fall by the wayside without correct planning.
Lack of Communication
A failure to communicate intended changes can break companies. Speculation and
rumors will sweep your organization, and a lack of trust will make it difficult for staff to
embrace change, especially when they're uninformed about what's required from them.
(Keep employees up-to-speed, whether you coordinate regular meetings or set up
brainstorming sessions. Communication should be two-way, because staff can help your
change procedures with valuable ideas.)
6. What actions would be taken to solve the problems when companies go through

change?
When companies go through change, they need to take these actions to solve the
problems, which include defining the changes, analyzing, developing a

communication strategy, providing effective training, implementing a support
structure, and measuring the change process.
Defining the changes means that we have to define what our problem is, and what
we need to change and after that, we need to analyze as a SWOT analysis that if
we do this change strategy, what are the pros and cons of this change strategy in
short term and long term, what difficulties and opportunities that will face to. If we
consider what this change strategy needs to do to have an effective organization,
we would go to the next step,
which is developing a communication strategy or we can call the implementation
of a social and behavior change communication (SBCC) program The
communication strategy should include a timeline for how the change will be
incrementally communicated, key messages, and the communication channels and
mediums you plan to use. With the change message out in the open, it's important
that your people know they will receive training, structured or informal, to teach
the skills and knowledge required to operate efficiently as the change is rolled out.
After doing the changes, we need to measure whether these changes may affect the
company effectively or not

7. What kind of jobs/people do you think need their own office? Why?
Jobs that require you to do with people in one on one situations that require
privacy. This can be anything from a car salesman to a hospital claims adjuster or
intake person.
In today's world, a lot also depends upon the focus of the company. In many
companies, jobs that in the past allowed closed doors and single offices are now
outsourced or given to workers who work from home or have been changed to

open environments.

The one job that you can absolutely control your office space would be to create
your own business.

Unit 4
8. What shows a person’s status in an organization?

The first thing that will show your personal status is a personal business card. In a
company, each person will have a different personal business card. Your personal
business card will show your name and your personal status in the organization.
The second thing that will show your personal status is assistance. People who meet
you for the first time will have the first impression if you have an assistant. This
means that you are in a high position in your company and you need to have an
assistant to share your work.
Moreover, your name on your office door also shows your personal status in an
organization. In a company, everyone also has their working room, and it also has a
sign on your office door, which has your name and your department. To illustrate this
with an example, if you are a principal in a school like FPT university you will have a
sign on your office door, which will write your name and your roles so that if anyone
would like to meet the principal, they will go to your office and see the sign on office
door first.

10. What’s your dream organization you desire to work for after graduating? state at
least 3 reasons for your choice.

After graduating from FPT University, I would like to work at Netflix because of
several reasons
First of all, Netflix corporation gives their employees lots of Benefits Employees.
They pay employees at the top of their personal market. The company also offers a
strong benefits package including unlimited vacation days with reasonable reason;
mobile phone discounts, free lunch or moreover health, vision, and dental insurance
benefits.
Secondly, Netflix's scores are high in company culture. Employees at Netflix have
freedom, flexibility, and a voice. You have the right to share your opinions to fix
other problems or praise the presentation to tell everyone about the company plan.
Employees also appreciate the freedom to work at their own pace and judgment to
keep the work effective.
Finally, Netflix provides us with opportunities to work with intelligent people. When
they hire people, they also value integrity, excellence, and collaboration. This also
means they can maintain an effective team, everyone can have chances to work with
other people who have good specialization in their jobs and so on they can help each
other to improve themselves and become better and better.
11. Would you prefer to work for a company where the headquarters make the
decisions or for one in which regional offices are given considerable decisionmaking powers?

Unit 5
12. Your company are going to launch a new shampoo for kids. What advertising
medium or method would you use? Explain?
I will organize giveaways, give some customers a free product experience, and invite
celebrities and influencers to use and experience the product. Furthermore, I will run
Instagram and Facebook contests, and create social hashtag challenges and
giveaways. This will make the brand of the product can be spread strongly.
Product messaging and positioning will play huge roles in how you present your new
product to your target customers. Now that you have a thorough understanding of

your audience, you need to craft a message that will highlight the most valuable
features of your product.
Ideally, your product messaging should include a catchy tagline and a value
proposition. It should highlight the product's best features and the problems they
solve.
13. What makes a good advertisement?
To have a good ad, the ad needs to have the following 3 elements
Advertising needs to have a clear and meaningful message.
Ads need to be short and memorable.
Ads need to make viewers laugh, sad or surprised
Getting into the customer's mind and knowing what they need will drive them to your
product. Use social media to promote products

14. Do you agree that advertising has a bad influence on children?
In my opinion, advertising does not have any bad influence on the development of
children. Advertisements may also have motivating content that can encourage
children to choose a profession or chase a specific dream. When they find an
advertisement that has a man who wants to help society, they find it interesting.
Therefore, they will have a thought that someday they will do that too. So we can see
that advertisements can help them develop a passion for the same and work towards it
from a young age.
15. Is it acceptable to compare your company product to your competitors’ product in
an advertising practice?

in my opinion, as long as you can substantiate your claims and they don't mislead or
deceive consumers and it should be legit. And the product you offer it is really useful
to the customer and competitive in the market.
Unit 8:
16. What factors are important for getting a job nowadays? state at least 4 factors and

explain.
Your appearance is the first thing a potential employer notices when meeting you for
a job interview. You can make a good first impression by dressing professionally and
being well-groomed. A professional appearance establishes you as someone who
takes work seriously, while an unkempt look can give an employer the impression you
are unprofessional and don't care about the image you project.
Moreover, you need to have qualifications. When the interviewers look at your CV
and your huge qualification and achievements that are related to your job, they can see
your capacity. After that, they will ask you more about your qualifications. In simple
terms, they want to know that you can do the job. The better you can demonstrate
your abilities, the more impressed the hiring manager will be.
Furthermore, you need to have experience. You may have experience in your job,
how well you solved the problem and what you learned after working for (many)
years, you also need to have experience in interviewing, you need to talk confidently
which will be a plus point for getting a job. If you don't speak fluently, the
interviewers may consider that you don9t have enough knowledge to work this job or
you haven9t prepared carefully before interviewing.
Finally, your marital status also affects your for getting a job. It may seem ruthless but
when you are a woman, the interviewers ask about your marital status because if
you're not married In the future you may get married and change your house to
another address that is far from the company, so you may leave their company to find
a new job. Or you may have plans to get pregnant in the future and you may leave
your job for a long time, and it will be difficult for them to hire another person to
alternate your position.
17. What age should be appropriate for retirement?
Personally, from 58 to 65 are considered the "normal retirement age". Based on:
Age 65 has long been considered a typical retirement age, in part because of rules
around Social Security benefits.
Life purpose. If you feel you have reached a peak and want to devote time to yourself
or want to help others, then you can retire early. You must have enough money to pay

for bills such as electricity, water, and personal expenses.

18. Do you prefer working for a male or female manager? why?
I prefer working for a male manager because the male manager is usually more
decisive and has better decision-making skills than a female manager. Men still have
more influence and power in the workplace. If the boss is an influential and powerful
person, The whole organization will appear more positive.
It doesn't matter whether the boss is a male or female as long as working towards
achieving the company's strategic goals, leading the group by example, encouraging
new ideas/innovations, providing guidance and career path to employees, being
impartial with all team members.
I believe it depends on the individual, if they are professionally skilled, organized, and
talented, their gender is irrelevant. It's not like we men don't have our issues, of
course, we do. Thus, I wouldn't mind working for either of the genders as long as
they've got excellent leadership and managerial qualities.
19. What challenges/difficulties might a woman face as a manager?
I think the difficult problem a woman can face as a manager is

The Stigma
Perhaps the biggest issue that female leaders face is the stigma that has long been
attached to women in leadership positions. Everything from women being too
emotional to be leaders to women struggling to maintain a work-life balance can
present a challenge for any female leader before they have even started their first day
on the job.
Gender Bias in the Workplace
It is not always conscious nor is it always spoken, but there is still an evident gender
bias in the workplace. This is a problem that goes both ways, women don9t always
champion what they hope to achieve, and men don9t also stop to realize that they are
following through on decisions that affect women's careers without consulting them.

Being Confident
The very challenges that women leaders have to face are the cause of one of the most
difficult challenges to overcome 3 staying confident. Leaders need to be confident, it

is an undeniable element of leadership, so it is down to women to make sure that their
voices are always heard, even in a boardroom dominated by men.
Unit 9:
20. How has the development of international markets affected you as a consumer?
My buying habits have been changed when the international market has so many
different models.
I buy more foreign goods when they appear on the market. Sometimes foreign-made
goods are worth less than locally-made goods, but I still choose to buy foreign-made
goods. I don't know why but sometimes I buy like that.

21. In your opinion, is free trade always a good thing? Explain.
Free trade is good for the whole, but that doesn't mean it's good every time.
But many would probably agree on the benefits of free trade, which creates wealth by
allowing goods to flow freely across international borders, without taxes and other
barriers. Economic Growth, Foreign Direct Investment and Technology Transfer:
Multinationals provide job training to local employees. After the trade agreement
removes the tariffs, those funds can be put to better use. Moreover, free trade
promotes national economic integration with the world
The biggest drawback to free trade agreements is intellectual property theft: Many
developing countries do not have laws protecting new patents, inventions and
processes. The laws they have are not always strictly enforced. As a result, companies
often have their ideas stolen. They then have to compete with lower priced domestic
knockoffs.
Reduced tax revenue: Many smaller countries struggle to replace lost revenue from

import taxes and fees.
22. What makes a good negotiator?
A good negotiator would have Listening And Asking Questions skill. When you
negotiate to exchange or deal with something, you need to listen to the opponent to
know their thinking and what they want from us. With actively listening and asking
questions, we would Get clear on what each party wants, needs and would like out of
the negotiation. This skill also helps create a great connection with the other person
and makes them feel heard and seen.
The second skill that a good negotiator needs to have is Emotional Detachment. When
negotiating, everyone has an outcome to reach, but attaching emotion to a single

result may affect your effectiveness. If you want something too much, it can appear
desperate or cloud your perspective. By detaching from those feelings, you will see
more possibilities and opportunities. Detachment involves knowing your needs and
remaining objective so you can stay focused and work your process.
23. What behaviors would be appropriate for a good negotiator?
Effective Negotiators Think clearly in the face of conflict. An effective negotiator will
not give a reason to be intimidated. They remain calm under pressure and show
confidence in their own position.
And the behaviors consistent with a good negotiator are: Open Mind: Considering
different perspectives and solutions can often lead to superior deals being made.
Effective negotiators will explore such options and package them in a way that
benefits themselves and the other person.
Next is Maintain Self-control. They don't allow themselves to lose their sanity or be
irritated by the other's behavior. They respond appropriately and consider their words
carefully.
Unit 11
24. What is the difference between a manager and a leader? What makes a great
leader?

The key difference between leader and manager is that leaders have people who
follow them whereas managers have people who work for them. Leaders focus on the
long-term such as the company's business strategy or long-term goals and the manager
focuses on the short-term but runs the parts of the company well, motivating people to
work effectively. fruit.
What makes a great leader is leadership, problem solving, and good communication.
Furthermore, the person must be confident and highly adaptable.
25. Are there any differences between men and women as leaders? Why have most
great leaders been men?
Women are less confident and less likely to rate themselves as highly effective leaders
than men. Men value their own leadership skills and ability to face management and
business challenges. A significant personality gap exists between the sexes in terms of
sensitivity and impulsivity.
Women are more personally sensitive than men, which can be a disadvantage in
cultures where leaders need to make decisions fairly.
The data shows that men are overall more likely to be selected or rated as leaders, in
part because they are more assertive and therefore more vocal. Men tend to focus on

the task at hand and directly coordinate perceptions and actions better than their
female counterparts. Research shows that male leaders are more action-oriented than
analytical because they have better neural connections.
26. Do you think great leaders are born or made? What qualities do natural born
leaders possess?
A leader can be born and can also be made, but natural born leaders need the following
qualities:
They find meaning and purpose in their work
Natural born leaders show a genuine passion for their work. They follow their dreams
and live up to their ideals. With a high sense of purpose, they understand that their work
is meaningful and important. Natural-born leaders also have the ability to inspire the

same purpose in others. They help team members understand how their work contributes
to the company's success, increasing their motivation.
They are good listeners
Natural-born leaders give their full attention to the speaker in a conversation. They are
good at maintaining eye contact and exhibit an open body language style. When they
reply to you, they won't turn the conversation into whatever they want to say
They have confidence
Confidence is the foundation for effective leadership. Making decisions in the face of
uncertainty is inevitable, and good leaders take responsibility for choosing an uncertain
outcome. Leaders need to be able to give people clear answers and direction. Confidence
reassures employees that they are doing the right thing and gives them confidence in the
company's mission and ideals.

27. What areas do you think are important for a good business leader?
While different leadership styles can be used at different times in a business, certain
personality traits are important to all leaders:
The first is Self-Awareness. That is, you can understand your own strengths and
weaknesses
Next is assertiveness. It's the ability to make quick decisions
Next is to treat others fairly
Next is knowledge. You must always stay abreast of relevant facts, figures, and
trends.

Next comes creativity and imagination. You must always come up with new and
creative ideas or promote a workplace
Finally, endurance. You have to be patient when things don't go your way.
Remember, being able to spot these abilities in others is just as important as yourself.
You should evaluate the skills your employees already have and how you can draw on
and support them to build the right skills.

28. Sales and Marketing department
Good listening skills
The inbound way to sell starts with listening. You will show that you hear and
understand the challenges, concerns and needs the prospect has – then you will be
seen as someone who can be trusted
Think value creation
Previously, sellers were confident in thinking that everybody is a potential customer
and that potentially there may be a lot of sales. Now, however, the focus is on helping
and giving something of value to the prospect even before the sale closes.
Take advantage of the latest technology
It is essential to understand the newest technology, but it is just as important to
understand how to use it. Understanding and implementing trends like optimization
for mobile, or marketing automation, is key.
Share new and long-term trends
Salespeople always know the most about how prospects think because they often get
prospects to think aloud during the sales process.

29. What benefits and limitations does free trade bring to your country?
Improve Economic Growth
International free trade is no different than commerce between neighbors, towns, or
states. However, it allows firms in each country to focus on producing and selling
those goods that make the best use of their resources while other firms import goods
that are scarce or unavailable in the country. The combination of domestic production
and foreign trade allows countries to grow faster while better responding to consumer
demand.

Let countries produce their specialties, which are products that other countries cannot
make or produce. With the revenue from the sale of goods, countries can buy products

from other countries that they need. Local companies also receive access to the latest
technologies from their multinational partners. As the local economy grows, so do job
opportunities. Multinational companies provide job training to local employees.
Limit
Free trade can have an impact on domestic companies. While we do free trade
agreements, there will be competition between export products and domestic
products, but in this case, foreign companies are supported by the Government
through subsidies. will help them reduce the cost of the product. As consumers, they
will choose cheaper and better quality products. So that's why today the Government
has a high tax policy on export products to protect domestic products.
Second, the free trade situation leads to poor working conditions. Because many
countries lack labor protection laws, workers may be forced to work in unhealthy and
substandard work environments. And it's true that free trade helps us lower prices, but
it also leads to a decrease in the company's revenue. Moreover, because domestic
companies are not protected by government policies, this will lead to increasing
unemployment.

30. Do you prefer high-conflict win-lose negotiations or cooperative win-win
negotiations?
Win-Lose bargaining is probably the most familiar form of negotiating that is
undertaken. Individuals decide what they want, then each side takes up an extreme
position, such as asking the other side for much more than they expect to get. An
example to illustrate Win-Lose negotiation is bargaining in the market. The buyers
think that a fish which costs 50.000 VND is not affordable so they negotiate to get a
fish that costs 40.000 VND, which will reduce the seller's profit. In this case, sellers
and buyers will negotiate until both of them agree to trade with that price, so it is a
Win- Lose negotiation, while the sellers are Lose and the buyers and Win.
While in Win-Win negotiations, the negotiators aim to work together towards finding
a solution to their differences that results in both sides being satisfied. Win-win
negotiation involves working to get the best deal possible for yourself while also

working to ensure that your counterpart (partner) is satisfied. An example of this case
is the negotiation of 2 companies that work in the same fields and both of them also
have some deals they collaborate to develop together in a project so both of them will
be beneficial.

In my opinion, I would prefer Win-Win negotiation to Win-Lose negotiations. Winwin negotiation allows both sides in a debate to believe that they have reached an
acceptable agreement

37. What are the good and bad qualities of an organization?
Bad:
Poor internal communication
A lack of teamwork in the office can be harmful to a business. This is why it's no
surprise that poor internal communication is an undeniable sign of a negative culture.
Bad habits
Bad habits can often start from scratch. If a company's management has bad working
habits, they can make employees believe that this is the right way to do business.
Poor management and leadership
Like bad habits, it can often be the management of a company that starts things off on
a downward trajectory. From setting the bar for bad habits, to not managing
employees properly, culture can often be the cause of accidents.

As we all know, leaders have an important role in controlling an organization. A good
leader guides an organization to success. But what makes a good leader?
First of all, a good leader needs to have good leadership ability. Leadership is the
ability of an individual or a group of individuals to lead, guide, or influence other
groups of people or an organization. With good leadership you can create a vision and
can motivate people A good leader can inspire people in the organization and choose
the right people to fill the right positions based on competence and their weaknesses.
Therefore, a good leader guides the organization to work effectively.

Furthermore, a good leader needs credibility. Imagine if you were a trustworthy
leader, you would be respected by all your employees and you had a strong power to
motivate your employees to work harder, harder, innovate in the future. Work. Of
course, if you are a trustworthy leader, you need to be a person of integrity. A good
leader must always demonstrate honesty in order to gain the trust of team members.
And finally, a good leader needs to have communication skills. You need to be able to
communicate in a variety of ways, from conveying information to coaching your
employees. And you have to be able to listen to giants with a variety of characteristics

in order to know their strengths, weaknesses, or more importantly, their ideas about
strategy. Listening isn't just about building rapport or empathy with employees, it's
also critical to being an effective leader.

39.
What makes a successful leader? Give an example of a successful leader.
What should a successful leader do to motivate his employees and win their respect?
(miss)
To illustrate this with an example, we need to mention Warren Buffett. He is not only a
successful investor, but also a great leader. He is the current chairman and CEO of
Berkshire Hathaway, and has become one of the wealthiest people in the world.
According to Warren Buffett, "Bad Leaders Pose the Biggest Risk to Companies." In
other words, poor management is the biggest threat the company faces. According to
Warren Buffett's theory, people's working processes are considerably more successful
when they are not confined by their employer continually peering over their shoulder,
watching their performance, and reviewing the quality of their work. Workers with a
laissez-faire leader have the flexibility to express their creativity and make their own
decisions.
Praise and compliment them often.
Managers have to get into the habit of praising and complimenting their people for their

good qualities and work. Recognition and praise is a powerful motivator to get
employees' commitment. Employees who receive compliments on a regular basis
increase their individual productivity, receive higher loyalty and satisfaction scores from
customers, and are more likely to stay with their organization.
Believe in them
The ability to listen effectively. Your employees have thoughts and opinions that they
believe can improve certain work situations. As a manager, leader and motivator, it's
important for you to listen to them and take what they say on board.
Be a great listener
You should always be prepared to listen when trying to motivate employees at the
workplace. Even if it isn9t even work related, good or bad, they could just need
somebody to speak to.
