Teenage Pregnancy
Every child dreams that they will have a happy family with both of dad and mom. But
these dreams are really difficult to become true if they were born by teen mom.
Teenage pregnancy is a socially, economically, physically and emotionally complex
issue.This is not a new topic but we still don’t have any solutions to stop completely.
Today I will present about this issue and suggest some way to prevent.
At first we need to understand what teenage pregnancy is. According to wikipedia,
teenage pregnancy is defined as pregnancy that occurs in women below the age of 20.
Have you ever imagine that can you take care of a child when you are still a school
girl? It’s totally not. You’re also a child, need the care from your parents so you can’t
become a mother when you are not mature. StayTeen.org reports that :
- About 16.4% teen pregnancies happen each year.
- 80% of these teen pregnancies are accidental.
- 50% of the pregnancies end up in abortion.
- About 16 million teenage girls become mothers every year.
Besides, You can see this graph on the slide. From these statistic and graph, you can
understand about how this issue serous and need to alarm about the lifestyle of the youth
nowaday. So what are the r reasons? There are plenty of the reason but I just show some
main reasons in the slide.
- Lack of awareness about safe sex.
- Teens are not taught about the birth patrol.
- Lack of guidance of school and family.
- Low life condition.
In addition to, teens always watch many sexual videos on TV or Internet, it makes
them currious about the sex and want to try. Moreover, they are in puberty, the
psychological need is really strong and difficult to control their behaviors.
Then, the consequences of teenage pregnancy are relly serious. At first, impact of
teenage pregnancy on the mother.
- Increase risk of miscarriage.
- High prenatal mortality.
- Drop out of school.
