9. Reflective statement on your learning process and future application:
Recently, I attended a face-to-face interview at the Sheraton Grand on June 8 and was
interviewed by Ms. T in the form of an interviewer and a candidate. This can be seen as the
deciding round whether I can be selected by the employer or not. Besides the knowledge
learned, there are many factors that affect the success or failure of that interview. In order to
prepare to create a favorable impression as well as a good impression of the employer on me,
the first thing I do is learn how to write a CV, cover letter, job description to make a dark
impression and better understand the request of Sheraton Grand, followed by researching
potential questions and finally preparing the outfit. This preparation is considered as the
strong points that I myself ready for that interview.
Interview questions asked by Ms. T is a situational and behavioral question. In-depth inquires
about my previous experiences at a previous workplace with different situations. Most of the
questions about her situation I can only answer half of because I am still poor at analyzing
problems and finding solutions to the situations she gives. Besides, I got her remark that I
have good communication skills and professional behavior as well. But I think that I still

have many shortcomings in these skills. As for communication skills, my misuse of grammar
resulted in me not completing the other half of the answer. As for the professional behavior,
although I have prepared the outfit, well, I still have anxiety because I feel pressured when
facing her. These are my weaknesses and shortcomings in the process of answering job
interviews. Overall, the interview was relatively successful. In addition to the weak points, I
still receive her compliments on my CV and understanding of her business.
To overcome the above weaknesses, I have planned it. I use strengths to overcome those
weaknesses. With high self-discipline and good time management, I take advantage of them
to attend communication classes and English classes, read many books to gain more
knowledge for writing and problem analysis. The goal for planning to work on these skills is
towards my future career path – receptionist. My career prospects depend on the size of the


company I am applying for, my previous experience, and my willingness to learn. It is really
an attractive profession, it will bring many opportunities for advancement in my future.

To sum up, personal development includes activities that enhance awareness and identity,
