CHAPTER I.
INTRODUCTION
This chapter presents (1.1) Research background of the topic: Vietnam's economy is
developing day by day, people gradually have the habit of drinking luxury wine
instead of traditional wine. That's why there are more and more wine businesses in
the market and that includes Go! Supermarket (1.2) Research Objectives: Analyze
sustainability in the wine import market in Vietnam, thereby offering solutions for

1.1
Research Background
After the constant fluctuations of the global economy, our
country's economy is now showing signs of growth. In recent
years, economic indicators show that business markets are
gradually warming up, consumers have also gradually abandoned
the habit of tightening spending in consumption. This is a good
opportunity for all businesses doing business in the Vietnamese
market. With a young economy like Vietnam, it becomes
extremely urgent to take a shortcut. In addition, the trend of
international trade gradually becomes inevitable for the economy
to create an abundance of goods to serve domestic needs and
production
through
imports
and
foreign
currency collection
through exports. TPP integration makes Vietnam's economy face
many opportunities in international trade in the future. Products
imported to Vietnam are extremely diverse, but including the wine
industry, which has developed rapidly in recent years. Due to the
improved
life,
Vietnamese
people
have
become
more
sophisticated from the need to "Eat well, dress well" to "Eat well,
dress well". In the middle class, there is a luxurious habit of

drinking wine instead of traditional wine products not only during
holidays but even in daily family activities. And that is why
importers trade wine in the market more and more. Including Go!
Da Nang supermarket.
During my internship at the supermarket, I had the opportunity to
access the supermarket's wine import activity and realized that
this is not a new business, but recently it has just begun to trend
and more and more businesses are participating. Although it is
said to bring profits to the business, there are also many
limitations. The intensity of competition among alcohol importers
and retail supermarkets is very high. With stiff competition holding
businesses and retail supermarkets, finding new business markets
for wine businesses is still quite difficult.
Supermarket Go! Da Nang is a still fledgling service in wine
imports. The wine market in Da Nang City is increasing, while the
market also has more and more wine distribution companies. The
increasingly
competitive
nature
of
the
market
makes
supermarkets have to take new directions to help supermarkets
both assert their position and develop further. An urgent problem
for supermarkets is how to develop their market and affirm their
position and build the image of the supermarket with customers
about the wine industry. Realizing that the company's market
development strategies still have some shortcomings, I decided to
choose the topic: "An overview on sustainability in the wine import
market industry from Vietnam. List of activities, recommendations
and future development of business models at Go! Danang
Supermarket, Vietnam”as his graduation thesis.
