The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered new ways of learning. All around the world, educational

institutions are looking toward online learning platforms to continue with the process of educating students.

Online learning offers teachers an efficient way to deliver lessons to students. Online learning has a number of tools

such as videos, PDFs, podcasts, and teachers can use all these tools as parts of their lesson plans. By extending the

lesson plans beyond traditional textbooks to include online resources, teachers are able to become more efficient

educators.

Online education allows students to attend classes from any location of their choice. It also allows schools to reach out

to a more extensive network of students, instead of being restricted by geographical boundaries. Additionally, online

lectures can be recorded, archived, and shared for future reference. This allows students to access the learning material

at a time of their comfort.

Another advantage of online learning is reduced financial costs. Online education is far more affordable as compared

to physical learning. This is because online learning eliminates the cost points of student transportation, student meals,

and most importantly, real estate. Additionally, all the course or study materials are available online, thus creating a

paperless learning environment which is more affordable, while also being beneficial to the environment.

Every student has a different learning journey and a different learning style. Some students are visual learners, while

some students prefer to learn through audio. Similarly, some students thrive in the classroom, and others are solo

learners who get distracted by large groups. The online learning system, with its range of options and resources, can

be personalized in many ways. It is the best way to create a perfect learning environment suited to the needs of each

student.

If you find yourself learn better by making notes during the lecture, or when the teacher uses a new word, you want to

see it written immediately, then you are very likely to be a more visual learner. You prefer to see the written words.

You learn by reading and writing. Visual learners often think in pictures. If you find a particular task or text difficult,

look for sources that will suit your learning style, e.g. sources with illustrations, charts, tables, or videos.

If you prefer recording the lecture and listening again to taking notes, or you memorize something by repeating it

aloud instead of writing it out several times, you are probably a more auditory learner. You prefer to learn by listening

and speaking. Auditory learners often learn best from lectures, discussions, by reading aloud, and by listening to audio

A pioneer leader for women's rights, Susan Anthony became one of the leading women reformers of the 19th century.
In New York, she began her first public crusade on behalf of temperance, the habit of not drinking alcohol. The
temperance movement dealt with the abuses of women and children who suffered from alcoholic husbands. Also, she
worked tirelessly against slavery and for women's rights. Anthony helped write the history of woman suffrage.
At the time Anthony lived, women did not have the right to vote. Because she voted in the 1872 election, a US official

Amendments to the Constitution. At her trial, a hostile federal judge found her guilty and fined her $100, which she
refused to pay.

Anthony did not work alone. She worked with reformers of women's rights such as Elizabeth Cady Stanton and
Amelia Bloomer. Susan worked for the American Anti-Slavery Society with Frederick Douglas, a fugitive slave and
black abolitionist.

Successful students often do the followings while studying. First, they have an overview before reading. Next,

they look for important information and pay greater attention to it (which often needs jumping forward or backward
to process information). They also relate important points to one another. Also, they activate and use their prior
knowledge. When they realize that their understanding is not good, they do not wait to change strategies. Last, they
can monitor understanding and take action to correct or “fix up” mistakes in comprehension.
Conversely, students with low academic achievement often demonstrate ineffective study skills. They tend to assume
a passive role, in learning and rely on others (e.g., teachers, parents) to monitor their studying, for example, low-
achieving students often do not monitor their understanding of content; they may not be aware of the purpose of
studpying; and they show little evidence of looking back, or employing “fix-up” strategies to fix understanding
problems. Students who struggle with learning new information seem to be unaware that they must extent effort
beyond simply reading the content to understand and remember it. Children with learning disabilities do not plan and
judge the quality of their studying. Their studying may be disorganized. Students with learning problems face
challenges with personal organization as well. They often have difficulty keeping track of materials and assignments,
following directions, and completing work on time. Unlike good studiers who employ a variety of study skills in a
flexible yet purposeful manner, low-achieving students use a restricted range of study skills. They cannot explain
why good study strategies are important for learning; and they tend to use the same, often ineffective study approach
for all learning tasks, ignoring task content, structure or difficulty.

ASEAN officially the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, is a political and economic union of 11 member states
in Southeast Asia, which promotes intergovernmental cooperation and facilitates economic, political, security,

military, educational, and sociocultural integration between its members and countries in the Asia-Pacific. The union

has a total area of 4,522,518 km2 and an estimated total population of about 668 million as in 2022.

ASEAN’s primary objective was to accelerate economic growth and through that social progress and cultural

development. A secondary objective was to promote regional peace and stability based on the rule of law and the

Gender defines and differentiates what women and men, and girls and boys, are expected to be and do (their roles,
responsibilities, rights and obligations).
While there are very distinct biological differences between boys and girls and these can create different needs and
capacities for each, these differences do not in themselves lead to or justify unequal social status or rights. The
distinct roles and behaviours that are defined for boys and girls, and men and women in a society may give rise to
gender inequalities, i.e. differences between men and women that systematically favour one group.
Gender can be a key determinant of who does what, who has what, who decides, who has power, and even who gets
an education or not. In many societies, boys are seen as the ones who should be educated, while girls are not.
UNICEF states that Gender equality means that women and men, and girls and boys, enjoy the same rights,
resources, opportunities and protections. Gender inequality arises when one group is seen in a society as having more
rights than the other. International declarations such as CEDAW promote and defend women’s rights, and therefore,

today, gender equality is promoted as a fundamental condition for the full enjoyment of human rights by women and
men. This right is recognized as a condition for growth and development and global organizations promote gender
equality in their work.
Nevertheless, gender inequalities persist in a wide range of areas. Overcoming gender inequalities requires profound
transformations in social structures and relationships between men and women.

Role reversal has not really become popular. Couples who swap roles are still few and far between. Is that

because women are better at rearing children? Or are men just afraid to resist tradition?

The isolation was the worst thing, said Andrew Timpson, who left teaching to take care of his home and children

for two and a half years.

The idea of swapping roles - for the father to stay at home while mum goes out to work - is still a relatively new

one. In the 70s it sounded like a great idea. Let the newly liberated women make progress with her career while the

New Man stays at home and takes care of the house and children.

Now, 10 years or so later, it seems as if we were a little premature. A recent report by the Family Policy Studies

Center concludes: "Despite important social changes, particularly greater female employment, it is still women in

families who undertake the great bulk of house-work, cooking, child-care and taking care of elderly relatives - The

much hyped New Man remains a rare species. Certainly some would argue that a man cannot replace a mother -

that mum is the natural homemaker, while dad is the provider. Some men might give help with shopping and

cooking, but most would do little more. Some men even believe that doing housework is an insult to their

masculinity. Others, like Andrew, want to stay at home - but with reservations. Andrew, who is now about to return

to work, says, "I don't know that I could have continued doing it for the rest of my life. I enjoyed it, but I do want to

support my family and I do want to work. I thought I could handle being dependent on Maureen, but it proved to be

tough for both of us." Maureen says, "I've got a job I really love. Continuing working has allowed me to fulfill my

Sylvia Earle is an underwater explorer and marine biologist who was born in the USA in 1935. She became

interested in the world’s oceans from an early age. As a child, she liked to stand on the beach for hours and look at the

sea, wondering what it must be like under the surface.

When she was 16, she finally got a chance to make her first dive, which motivated her to become an underwater

explorer. Since then, she has spent more than 6,500 hours under water, and has led more than seventy expeditions

worldwide. She has also made the deepest dive ever, reaching a record-breaking depth of 381 metres.

In 1970, she became famous around the world when she became the captain of the first all-female team to live under

water. The team spent two weeks in an underwater ‘house’. The research they carried out showed the damage that

pollution was causing to marine life, and especially to coral reefs. Her team also studied the problem of overfishing.

Fishing methods meant that people were catching too many fish. Earle warned, and many species were in danger of

becoming extinct.

Since then she has written several books and magazine articles about ways of reducing the damage that is being

done to the world’s oceans. One way, she believes, is to rely on fish farms for seafood, and reduce the amount of

fishing that is done out at sea. Although she no longer eats seafood herself, she realises the importance it plays in our

diets. However, people need to reduce the impact they are having on the ocean’s supplies.

Both native English speakers and non-native speakers find the spelling of English one of its most difficult

characteristics. The English spelling system is not based on a phonetic link between sounds and letters, as is the

spelling of Spanish and certain other languages. Instead, English spelling is affected by the historical development of

the language. Some words are pronounced in several different ways; similarly, different combinations of letters can

produce the same pronunciation.

The six different pronunciations of ough provide an outstanding example of the differences between spelling and

pronunciation, as in bough, cough, thorough, thought, through, and rough. The spellings come from a time when gh

represented a sound that was pronounced. Another difference is the many different spellings of the sh sound, as for

example in anxious, fission, fuchsia, and ocean.

The link between sound and spelling in English is not phonetically exact for two main reasons. First, spelling

changes did not keep pace with changes in the sound system after the development of printing and of conventions

for spelling. For example, the k in knife and the gh in right come from the Middle English period (from about 1100

to about 1500), when they were pronounced as separate sounds. Second, there are some spelling conventions that are

based on other languages. For example, during the 16th century the ‘b’ was inserted into the word doubt (formerly

spelled doute). This reflected the Latin word, dubitare, even though the 'b' was not pronounced in English.

There have been many attempts to reform English spelling. The author and playwright George Bernard Shaw

proposed a completely new alphabet, but this had very limited success. American English has developed some of its

own spelling conventions, largely as a result of the work of spelling reformer Noah Webster. Webster attempted to

remove some of the irregularities from the English spelling system and distance American English from British

English. Nevertheless, the system as a whole remains particularly complex, and English is widely regarded as having

the worst spelling of any language in the world.
