An internship is a pre-professional work that provides students with the opportunity to gain experience in a particular area field. Most internships are very beneficial and it open up many opportunities for the intern. It is the same for my internship where I can get new opportunities and experiences that are not available at University. Internships provide a visible representation of higher education that is often missing from lectures and textbooks. Nothing fully compares to the experience of being immersed in a fast-paced professional environment, even if this can be communicated to some extent through class assignments, case studies, and clinical observation.

The most benefit of the internship is that we can refine Career Goals. During our internship, we can find that a particular field or career path we once considered alluring is no longer our passion. Early awareness of this allows us to alter our direction before becoming stuck on a particular job route. Later on, it might be much harder to make these modifications. There has never been a better opportunity to change our strategy and pursue a career or industry that truly ignites our enthusiasm. I love the translation industry because translators play a very important role because they are the bridge between the two parties and even a small mistake can lead to unintended consequences. This is a profession that has a great influence on the political and cultural harmony between countries. With extensive integration in many fields, the demand for labor in the translation industry is always very high. The translation profession will bring us a very high income.

From the above benefits and reasons. I realized that ATV is the most suitable internship for me. Moreover, at ATV I can apply what I was learned in the real world. Internships offer me the chance to apply what I am learning into action, in a real-world environment. This helps me better understand the theories and strategies I have been reading about, cementing the learning process and giving me greater focus.

It was my good luck to take my internship at Satellite Team, Program Department, An Giang Radio - Television Station, a prestigious place that gave me many advantages.

OBJECTIVES OF THE REPORT

The purpose of this report is to describe what I did and discovered when I was an intern. The report mostly focus on my job, the workplace environment, and the advantages I received. I further included my own translated materials. Besides, through this internship report, I can review my shortcomings during the internship. An internship is a type of pre-professional job that gives students the chance to get experience in a certain sector. Moreover, it enhances academic coursework, in certain cases, earns college courses. As students, it is our responsibility to apply what we have learned in the classroom. This is also an excellent opportunity for us to test our knowledge and get to know our future careers. My good fortune was to choose to complete my internship at the Satellite Team, Program Department, An Giang Radio -Television Station, which provided me with a number of benefits.

The internship report consists of six main parts. Firstly, General information about An Giang Radio - Television Station. Secondly, the job that I did when I was an intern at An Giang Radio - Television Station. Thirdly, the advantages I received during the internship. Fourthly, Difficulties encountered during the internship. Fifthly, the causes of the above difficulties and measures to overcome them. Finally, experiences and lessons after the internship.

Trang 16

2. Internship tasks

I was assigned to intern at the Programme Department of ATV. The internship schedule in the past time is not too tight, but I have observed and learned a lot of things from my internship. My job at the Station is to translate International news from English into Vietnamese. Because I am an intern, the work assigned by Ms. Ma Hoa Nhan is not too much and most of the translations are International news related to the fields of economy, culture, politics, science, society, and education. In eight weeks, there are total 10 new videos from NHK Channel is already recorded.

Week 1: From 12 to 19 January 2023.

On the first week of the internship, we met and interacted with Ms. Ma Hoa Nhan for 2 hours. Ms. Ma Hoa Nhan introduced useful information for our internship and general information about ATV. After the exchange, Ms. Ma Hoa Nhan gave us seven news videos of NHK channel.

 Green Weeding Robot Tested in Rice Paddies in Japan.  Biden to Visit Saudi Arabia Next Month.

 WTO Moving Closer to Food-Security Deals.

 Australia, China Have First Ministerial Meeting in 2 Years.

 Japan, Malaysia Foreign Ministers to Cooperate On Ukraine Response.  Govt. Says Economy Recovering, Warns Of China Risk.

 North Korea Launches Ballistic Missiles.

Trang 17

Besides, our group also set up Zalo group to exchange and work together. There are eight members in my group.

Experience: After meeting Ms. Ma Hoa Nhan, I realized that when we want to join an internship or work in any agency or company, we need to learn basic information from them. Just like when we go to someone's house we need to know who the host is. That is a plus point for candidates and interns.

Week 2, 3: From 20 January to 4 February.

In the second week of the internship, we started translating the assigned videos.

When doing this kind of program, the translators' duties are to listen to and translate exactly every word, every sentence being said in the video. It is very difficult and it is also my problem. I had listen word-by-word and listened many times. There was several new words that I did not meet in class. Therefore, I must listened to them carefully then I looked up in the dictionary to find out the new words. However, there were still some words that even I had learned and listened to many times and I had looked up in the dictionary, I could not find them. The last way I might do was to ask

Photo 5. Seven videos

Photo 6. Our Zalo group

Trang 18

Ms. Ma Hoa Nhan for help. She will check what I translated and help me find some words that I could not realize. She was more experienced and there was familiar with these words, it would be easy for her to get them.

My work is done through the following steps:

1 Watching and listening to the video

2 Looking up new words in the dictionary

3 Writing down all the content mentioned by the newscaster in the current events

4 Checking grammar and spelling before translating into Vietnamese

5 Translating all content from English to Vietnamese

Table 4. Translation process

Group Work Process: My class has about 32 students intern at the Station and my intern group consists of eight members. I am the team leader who divides the work for the rest of the members and I am the person who directly submits the homework to Ms. Ma Hoa Nhan via her email. First of all, we receive videos of International News at the Station via USB of Ms. Ma Hoa Nhan then save it to a laptop and send them to the Zalo group for all members of the group to see. The task of all members is to listen and translate all these videos, then discuss each video one by one and choose the most suitable translation. Moreover, we also answer questions together during the translation process. Finally, the team leader will synthesize the translations and send them via email to Ms. Ma Hoa Nhan.
