Living in a city versus living in a rural area has been a topic of discussion forcenturies. While some people thrive in the hustle and bustle of urban life, othersprefer the tranquility and simplicity of the countryside. Although it is possiblefor human to lead a happy life anywhere, there are still many differencesbetween life in city and life in rural areas, especially in cost of living, environment, and job opportunities.

It is apparent that the expense to live in city is much more expensive than that ofliving in countryside in terms of housing price, cost of medical care andeducation. To own a house or a flat, it costs urban people a fortune that worthmany years of working. However, in rural area, people can easily have a house, even the really large one, which only cost them third of the price they have topay for the same area in city. Moreover, in city, they have many modern andwell-equipped hospitals, as well as more talented doctors, which lead to a higherprice of medical care to pay for those better services. In contrast, the expensethat people in rural area have to pay for medical care is a lot cheaper due to itsbackward facilities.

In terms of environment, life in city and life in country also share little incommon. With the fast development of technology, more vehicles are producedas well as more factories are operated in city. Therefore, the environment inurban is becoming more polluted by different kinds of exhausted fumes andindustrial wastes from those developments. On the contrary, rural people areexperiencing a better and cleaner environment than their city counterparts.Fresher air, purer water source are the most vivid evidences of healthyenvironment in countryside.

Another difference between living in city and living in country is the jobopportunities for their residences. While people tend to leave countryside due toits decrease in jobs, city is witnessing a climb in the quantity of people movingto it so as to seek better employment. Moreover, there are more companies andfactories locating in big cities, which offer a wider variety of employment andhigher salaries to people. They can consider many options and apply for the jobsthat most suited to their abilities and personalities. However, in country, themain career is still farming. There are fewer choices for them to decide theiremployment.

In conclusion, although living in city are becoming a more favored choice inpresent time, many people still prefer to live in country. No matter what people
