Set the scene : Lan and Hoa are talking about the distances from Ha Noi to
Hue and from Hue to HCM City.
II. Practice :
Predict Dialogue : A4 - P.82.
Ss look at the open dialogue (poster or bb) and fill in the gaps in pairs.
Then they listen to A4 to check their answers.
Lan : You 're from Hue. How far is it from Ha Noi ?
Hoa : It 's along way. It takes about 18 hours to get there by coach. I

Ss practise in pairs, using the street map (a) about the stores and the
table (b) in La.Fo.3 : (2) Prep. P.96, then write a conversation about giving
Directions.
Example :
S1 : Could you tell me how to get to the book store from the library ?
S2 : Go straight ahead to the park, take the first street on the left and
go along Hue street. The book store is between the mini mark and the
restaurant.
S1 : How far is it from the library ?
S2 : About 500 meters.
