 Aim: Reading for details about recess activities in an American
school.
 Objective: By the end of the lesson. Ss will be able to retell the
activities of students in American school’s recess.

1.Warm-up: Revision. Bingo:
Ss write five activities at recess.
T.reads: Play catch / skip rope / drink / play marbl / play tennis / play
soccer/ play baseball / talk to friends / read / listen to music / eat /
play badming / chat / meet friends.

2.Presentation:

3.Pre-reading:
Set the scene:
Hoa has a letter from Tim (-her American pe npal + He goes to a
junior high school in California.) In this letter he tells her about
American students.
Prediction: T.asks Ss to predict.
“What do Ss in American schools do at recess ?”


While reading:
Ss read the text to check their prediction.

Ss listen to the tape and do the exercise (Match).

Compare with a partner.
