OUTLINE:
I. What is a structure?
A Structure is a meaningful sentence or utterance.The meaning is changed
by the process of substitution.
Example: Are you tired?
II. What aspects to present a structure ?

1.Form
2.Function
3.Meaning
Example: Would you like a cup of tea ?
• Form: Would you like + Noun
• Function: Making a request
• Meaning: Do you want to drink a cup of tea ?
III.The steps of the presentation of a structure.
1. Building up a situational context.
• Using visual techniques (actions,pictures,demonstrations)
• Using verbal techniques (asking questions,telling stories)
2. Writing the structure on the board.
3. Getting students to repeat the marker sentence.
4. Focusing student’attention on the market sentence.
5. Explaining how it is formal (underlining the key feature)
6. Checking understanding of the concept.
• Asking yes/ no questions
7. Controlling practice : ask students to practice under teacher’control
