I.Objectives:
- By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to use the irregular verbs in the
simple past tense.
- They will be able to use “prepositions of time” and “used to” to talk the
action which always happens in the past.
II. Language contents:
1. Vocabulary: Revision of prepositions of time.
2. Structures: The simple past tense.
Used to-V(inf).
III. Techniques: Pairwork, workgroup, matching.
IV. Teaching aids: Pitures, flip-chart.
V. Time: 45ms.

and gives the Form

4. Look at the picture. Complete the
dialogue. Use used to and the verbs in
the box.
a) Form:
S + used to + V-inf.
S + didn’t used to + V-inf.
Did + S + used to + V-inf ?.
b) Usage: “used to” express a past habit
or an actiion usually happened in the
past.
Ex. Did you used to live in Hue ?
No, I used to live in Ha Noi.
c) Exercise 4.
Sts practice speaking in pairs
(sentences a,b,c,d).


Answers:
Ex. Hoa: I used tostay there.
(1) Hoa: I used to have.
(2) Hoa: She used to be.
