Traffic guidance concepts including reservation

Getting to his destination as fast as possible and at the shortest distance is
the desire of every car driver. Static parking guidance systems are useful as
long as the parking space available is abundant and even shows reserves.
But as soon as bottlenecks develop in the parking space offered, effective
dynamic parking guidance systems are required in order to avoid environ-
ment load and stress for the car drivers. While nowadays free parking lots
are visualised on large display boards in the area of the access routes,
technology is already on the way of information broadcasting via mobile
phone networks and integration of parking guidance techniques in satellite-
based navigation systems. By the increase in standardisation of such
navigation systems in all vehicles, the demand for an integrated parking
guidance system is on the way to future. Accordingly, the demand for

The internal parking guidance system
provides by suitable detectors various
options of traffic flow acquisition and
single-lot detection via cascadable ultra-
sonic sensors with optical free/busy
displays and a multitude of logical and
statistical evaluations with graphic
illustrations. It further offers a parking lot
reservation system for static and dynamic
reservations. Static reservation is consi-
dered in general for long-time parkers.
Dynamic reservations are for online
service. For instance, reservations on the
move can be ordered by mobile phone
and payment guaranteed by using
the same approach.
The external parking guidance system
offers the acquisition of dynamic occupan-
cy data from randomly equipped parking
systems, and apart from statistical evalua-
tions the logical processing and output of
this data to different visualisation systems,
ranging from a dynamic free/busy display
through residual lots still available, right
up to relaying to broadcasting systems for
distribution in Internet, in GSM networks
or other distribution systems.

A team of highly qualified and
experienced engineers provides from the

assistance by telephone to customers and
service engineers, but also full on-line help
by dialling into the

computer, while
giving both the hotline specialist in
