I.Tenses
Simple present in the main clause:
Ex: If you heat ice, it turns to water.
Progressive tense:
Ex: If I were sitting on the car, I would feel carsick.
Perfect tense: Ex: If I have finished the letter, I’ll post it.
Be going to/ have to/ .…
Ex: If you are going to leave, I won’t say anything.
‘Should in the conditional clause:’
Ex: if she should agree to do it, please call me.
II. Replace “IF”
Unless (trõ khi, nÕu kh«ng) = If not……
Ex: My wife will be very upset if I don’t get back
tomorrow.
-> My wife will be very upset unless I get back
tomorrow.
