The subject
Evey sentence has a subject. It can consbt, for example, of an article and
noun, aproper noun or apronoun.

The complement
A
complement is a word, orgroup of words, which completes the sense of a
sentence. It
is used after verbs which do not take a direct object, for example,

the
verb
sein
(to be),
orheiBen
(to be called).
When asking a question about the subject
of
a sentence, the interrogative
pronoun
wer?
(who?) is used to refer topeople, andwas? (what?) to refer to
inanimate objects.
