a wonderful invention
Most people don't like getting up early, and some people find it impossible to wake up on time. For
these people the alarm clock is a wonderful invention. But there are people who become so used to
hearing the regular ringing sounds of their alarm clock that they continue to sleep through the noise.
I used to be one of these people. When I was going to school, I kept two alarm clocks beside me, but
still my mother had to shake me before I woke up. Now I live by myself. I used to be employed by
an advertising agency, but despite help from several loud alarm clocks I was late for work four times
in one week and I was dismissed. Next week I will start a new job . Am I bound to lose this one, too?
There should be no problem thanks to my new silent alarm clock. Instead of ringing, this clock
shakes. I put it under my pillow and at the set time it vibrates. It makes my head move and I wake up
at once. I wish such a useful thing had been thought of years ago.
