A – SO SÁNH BẰNG VỚI TÍNH TỪ
Cấu trúc: so/as + adj/adv + as
Có thể thêm vào phía trước so/as các từ để chỉ mức độ chuẩn xác
JUST = vừa (bằng), chính xác
NEARLY = gần như

B – SO SÁNH BẰNG VỚI DANH TỪ
Cấu trúc 1: AS MANY + DANH TỪ ĐẾM ĐƯỢC + AS
Thí dụ:
I work as many hours as he does
Cấu trúc 2: AS MUCH + DANH TỪ KHÔNG ĐẾM ĐƯỢC + AS
Thí dụ:
I don’t make as much money as he does


C – SO SÁNH BỘI SỐ
Cấu trúc: as + half/ twice/ + many /much + as
This book costs twice as much as the other one.
My friend has half as many records now as I had last year.

D – SO SÁNH HƠN
1. Với những tính từ một âm tiết (tính từ ngắn): thêm -er vào sau tính từ + than
You are taller than I am
Tom is stronger than his brother

2. Với những tính từ có từ hai âm tiết trở lên (tính từ dài): thêm more + tính từ +
than
The first problem is more difficult than the second


E – SO SÁNH NHẤT
1. Với tính từ chỉ có một âm tiết (tính từ ngắn)
"the + adj + -est"
He is the tallest in his family
That was the happiest day of my life.
2. Với những tính từ có từ hai âm tiết trở lên (tính từ dài)
"the + most + adj"
Mary is the most beautiful in my class
 Để chỉ so sánh kém nhất, chúng ta có thể dùng "The least" để chỉ mức độ kém nhất :
That film is the least interesting of all.
 Chú ý:
1. Nếu tính từ tận cùng bằng e, chúng ta chỉ thêm -r hoặc -st mà thôi:
Nice - nicer - nicest
Large - larger - largest
2. Nếu tính từ gốc tận cùng bằng phụ âm +y và trước nó là một phụ âm, chúng ta đổi y
thành i trước khi thêm -er hoặc -est:
Happy - happier - happiest
Easy - easier - easiest
Nhưng nếu tính từ tận cùng bằng nguyên âm + y, và trước nó là một nguyên âm thì y vẫn
được giữ nguyên:
Gay - gayer - gayest
Gray - grayer - grayest
3. Nếu tính từ gốc chỉ có một âm và tận cùng bằng một nguyên âm + một phụ âm ,
chúng ta phải gấp đôi phụ âm trước khi thêm –er hoặc -est
Hot - hotter - hottest

Big- bigger – biggest
Bài tập 1: Hoàn thành câu bằng dạng so sánh đúng của động từ trong ngoặc

F – SO SÁNH KÉP
Ví dụ 1: She is less and less attentive
Ví dụ 2: The less he gives, the less he receives

4. Jack eats much. He becomes fatter
