The SCCP is the layer that enables an SS7 to
route MAP messages.
•
The SCCP runs in top of the MTP network.
SCCP ADDRESSES
The SCCP uses the following addresses:
•
Calling address — identifies call origination
•
Called address — identifies call destination
SCCP uses the following elements:
•
Destination Point Code (DPC)
•
Global Title (GT)
•
SCCP SubSystem Numbers (SSN)
GLOBAL TITLE (GT)
•
Address Information (AI)
•
Nature of Address (NA)
•
Numbering Plan (NP)
•
Translation Type (TT)
GT requires further translation in-order to make it compatible with the signaling network.
SUBSYSTEM NUMBER (SSN)
This is used to identify the relevant node. e.g HLR
NUMBERING PLAN (NP)
indicates the numbering plan the address is originating from e.g e.164,e.165,e.214,3.212
GLOBAL TITLE (GT)
