Only just over 1% of Canada’s
3.5 million sq miles (9.1 million sq km)
land area is devoted to grain production,
yet this yields around 25 million tons
(tonnes) of wheat every year.
Despite an area of 808,109 sq miles
(2,092,993 sq km), the northerly province
of Nunavut has only 530 miles (850 km)

of roads and highway.
