Lady and Gentlement!
My name is Doan Thao Nhat, a student at Quang Tung secondary
School. Today, I’m very happy on behalf of all students in my school to take
part in the English Speaking Contest with topic “English and International
integration”. Now I would like to share some ideas about this matter.
You know, In the industrialization - modernization of our country and
in the age of information explosion in the global context . How can short-cut
to the head, to the people of Vietnam to reach the heights of intellectual
world ? - Must invest , develop education , to know foreign languages
Foreign Languages and serves an important role in the cause of education
and training in the development of the country. Generally, not knowing
foreign languages is indispensable requirement of high-tech workers to meet
the technological process innovation often, but that language was a
necessary capability for the Vietnamese .
I think that, the role of English in the world today. Nowadays nobody can
deny the imfortance of English in international relations. First of all,
the English is the main language of most internation organization like
the. United nation, European free trade. Association diplomats and
politicians from different countries use this language to
communications are conducted in English . Example the Olympics and
Miss world contest with opportunity to use internet very populary and
contact people from all over the world . Men , Women and children
from different country can talk about their ideas and opinions in the
internet discussions ,send e-mail learn about their life and culture .Now
English is the way to travel more easily,communicate with people
wherever you go ask direction, have a conversation or ask for help
.English helps us to exchange easily , communicate with foreign people

to increase my understanding and my ability. In my opinion, those who
is good at English, he can travel any where he likes, then he can
understand the culture, custom, and tradition of another countries.
As you know, it can’t be denied that English is considered to be the common
and important language of the world today. Many people understand and use
English in the world. It is used in politics, education, culture and business.
Firstly, in politics the leaders of all countries use English to
communicate, discuss, sign the contracts in important forums and
conferences. In addition, they can solve the global problems in the world
such as: war, conflict among nations and environment…… Thanks to these,
all nations in the world can understand each other, cooperate and make
friends.
Secondly, in business, most products are written in English on labels to
explain how to use them and ingredients containing in them…….Therefore,
they are sold not only in domestic markets but also exported into
international ones. Many products made in Viet Nam are well- known not
only in Asian region . On the other hand, we have chances to use goods,
products imported from the another countries. Besides, businessmen often
use English to learn about experiences and contact with foreign partners.
Last but not least, in education, today in schools English is one of the
most important subjects. In some big cities of our country, some subjects are
taught by English. Every year, there are many contests to help students to
improve their English skills such as: English Speaking Contest, IOE.
In our country English is the main foreign language taught in various
schools.
For me,to learn English well, we need to have specific methods and
effectiveness , such as: watch TV , video , radio , read newspapers or speak
English with native speakers whenever you have the chance . Use of English
in many places , not just in the classroom . We should hear and sing English
songs . When we speak English , we try to express in every possible way ,

use gestures. We are not afraid of making mistakes . Application of new
words and structures learned in many different situations . We read the
various articles on the same theme . we practice saying and writing on topics
do.We guess the meaning of words, sentences based on the content by
reading , listening or social situations . We should compare to understand the
differences between English and Vietnamese . Learning in groups or in pairs
is best . Learn the rules of grammar , vocabulary or dialogue form . Listen to
the tape and practice spelling regularly . The most important thing is to
passion and determination to persevere tam Especially , you must persist,
if persistent, you will succeed. you only need to remember 5 words per day,
or 5 words before bedtime. You should write a short paragraph in English.
I think that each person has different methods to learn English well. In my
opinion, the four main skills for me to focus on are: Reading ,Writing,
Speaking and Listening.
Firstly, for listening skill I need to practice much everyday. .Therefore
I often find the best ways to improve it. In classes, I always pay attention to
my teacher to understand the words and pronounce them correctly. I usually
listen to English tapes or listen to native English speakers. I also watch
foreign films and English TV programs. I think it’s interesting and useful to
learn to sing English songs. I often attend to online lessons on useful web
pages.
Secondly, for speaking skill I usually try to practice as much as
possible. It’s better for me to be in a totally English speaking environment,
so I often practice speaking to my teachers and my friends in English
whenever I have chances. I always try to talk to foreigners when I go on
holiday or when I meet them on the street.
Thirdly, for reading skill I often read many books on a variety of subjects :
Economy, Facts, News, Polity and society which are written in
English .I also read English newspapers, English magazines or English
short stories . If I don’t understand the meaning, I will use a dictionary

and look up new words and then write them down in a notebook. I will
try to use these new words in conversation.
The last skill is writing. Writing gives me a good chance to review words
and grammar that I have learned in the past. I often start with simple
and small sentences and then make them longer. Furthermore, I always
do many exercises as much as possible and do more grammar exercises
in grammar books.In short, I think that anything you like you will reach
if you make a big effort” For me, learning English is very important and
useful so I always find the best ways to improve my English language.
I hope my eloquent will make a deep impression for all of you.
