For instance:

it is difficult to identify the subject of the sentence
by the subject and verb do not go hand in hand.
- The boys in the room are playing chess.

If None of the following is an uncountable
noun, the verb must be in the 3rd person
singular. If then it is a plural noun, the verb
must be in the 3rd person plural.

been found.

Verb to be divided according to the following
noun ‘or’ or ‘nor’

Either/ neither + noun + or/nor +
singular noun + singular verb

Either/ neither + noun + or/nor + plural

Example:
1. Neither John nor his friends are going
to the beach today.
2. Either John or Bill is going to the
beach today.
3. Neither the boys nor Carmen has seen
this movie before.

When V-ing is subject , verb have to be
conjugated with third singular person.

Example:
a. Knowing her has made him what he is.
b. Not studying has caused him many problems.

We usually use V-ing to express a particular
action. But when you want to express the
natural of things, we must use noun.
Example: Dieting is very popular today.
Diet is for those who suffer from a cerain
disease.
