II. WARM UP (5 minutes)
1. Quiz : What is this place ?
- Ask questions and call the student who puts his / her
hand up first to answer
- Tell Ss each place consists of 3 questions ; 3 points for
the first question , 2 points for the second question , 1
point for the third question a. What is this place ?
1. it is called the city of Eternal Spring .
2. It has a lot of waterfalls and lakes .
3. You can find the most kinds of flowers here .
b. What is this place ?
1. It is a seaside resort .
2. It has a very big monument of Buddha .
3. It has an Oceanic Institute
c. What is this place ?
1. It is a mountainous resort .
2. It has tribal villages .


3. Sometimes it has snow .
d. What is this place ?
1. It is recognized as a World Heritage Site
by UNESSCO .
2. It has a lot of caves .
3. It contains of a lot of islands .
2. Listen :
- Set the scene “ The Jones family are going around Ha

1. Listen :
Noi and they are talking about the directions to 5 places
in the maps . Listen to them and match the places to the
correct positions on the maps “
- Put the map on the board and ask sts to identify the
places.
- Play the tape 2 or 3 times
- Ask Ss to compare their answers with their friends .
- Call on some Ss to read their answers and give the
correct answers
- Play the tape once more to check the answers
( pause at some important paragraph )

III. NEW LESSON (35minutes)

make other dialogues and practice speaking .

II. WARM UP (5 minutes)
Revision :
- Ask Ss to put the outline for an informal letter in the
correct order.
- Prepare 6 cards with 6 outlines on them.
- Call 6 Ss to hold them and stand in a random order.
- Ask some other Ss to rearrange them in the correct
order.
- Write the answer on the board and ask sts to copy.

III. NEW LESSON (35minutes)
Step 1 : Pre Writing :
- Ask Ss to work in pairs to answer the questions in
exercise 2 on page 76.
- Call on some pairs to practice asking and answering the
questions
- Give feedback.

Brainstorming:
- Ask sts to find out short adjectives and long adjectives
they have learnt.
- Divide the class into two teams, one using yellow chalk
and the other red chalk.
- Get sts to go to the board and write the adjectives.

Step 2 : Practice : (Language Focus 4 on page 79)
- Ask sts to do exercise. They have to work in pairs to
make comparisons between the city and the countryabout:
food, traffic, transport, with the adjectives: easy,
expensive, cheap, good
Give an example.
- Let sts make any sentences they want, only focus on
structures, not on the meaning.
Step 3 : Production :
- Ask them to read the advertisements then ask them some
questionsto check their understanding.
+ What are advertised?
+ How old are they?
+ How much do we pay per month?
- Ask sts to look at the adjectives in the box and give the
comparison forms of the adjectives.
E.g. old - older - the oldest
expensive - more expensive - the most expensive
- Divide the class into 2 teams and them to play the game
Noughts and Crosses
- One team is Noughts (0) and the other is crosses(x).
- One team starts choosing a number and makes a
sentence with the given word. If the sentence is correct, T
puts a mark (O or X ) in that square.
- The first team to get 3 in a row (across, down or
diagonally) wins the game.
E.g: The apartment is older than the house.
The villa is the oldest.
