UNIT SIX: THE SCHOOL FESTIVALS.
Lesson 1: Section A (1, 2, 3).
I. Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to talk about some school festivals
or celebration, ask and answer about the even happening in the past.
II. Teaching methods:
- Communicative approach.
- Techniques:
+ Ask and answer
+ Work in pairs/ groups.
+ Discuss.
III. Teaching aids:
- Teacher’s aids: student’s book, e – planning, sheet of paper ( for exercise 2 –
workbook – page 41)
- Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks.
IV. Languages focus:
 Vocabulary: School Festival, School Games, Song Festival, home,
yesterday, last night, last week, last month.
 Structures:
Where were you yesterday?
I was at the School Festival.

Ss: “Mai and Li Li are talking
in the school yard”

Play the tape 3 times; ask Ss look at the
picture and listen to the tape.

Write the word in each cloud.
Have Ss repeat the words in chorus then rub
out word by word but leave the circles.
Go on until all the words are rubbed out.
Point to each circle and ask Ss to repeat
chorally the English words.
Ask some Ss write the words on the board.
