One afternoon, Sam’s mother wanted him to run an errand for her. He was
supposed to buy a dozen eggs, two bottles of milk and a packet of salt.
As Sam entered the Sunny neighborhood Shopping Center, there were already
beads of perspiration on his forehead. It was cooler in there. Instead of going to the
supermarket, he headed straight to the toy shop. He looked for his favorite robot.
When nobody was looking, he slipped it secretly into his pocket. Then he looked

around again before leaving the shop. Sam’s heart was thumping very hard. He ran
helter-skelter home.
When Sam reached home, his mother was surprised to see him empty-handed. It
was then that Sam realized that he had completely forgotten about the errand. Sam’s
mother sensed something amiss as he was looking uneasy and pale. Before she could
ask him the reason, the robot dropped to the floor. She realized what had happened
and explained to him that shop-lifting is an offence. She also told him to return the toy
to the shop immediately. She told him that he should never steal.
